Evan wasn't going to lie- it was good to have things back to normal again. For... whatever definition of the word 'normal' the island wanted to embrace at any given moment. He could put his stuff somewhere and not worry about where it was going to wind up the next day. He could go to sleep at night and not worry about whether or not it would be him waking up the next morning.

Still, it was hard to shake that uneasy feeling that the whole mess left behind. It was just that easy for him to lose touch with whatever it was that he was striving to become. He wanted to be a hero, and he'd spent a lot of his time in something just shy of a berserker rage. He wanted to be able to keep a handle on himself, but once again, circumstances outside of his control swept through and dictated what it was that he was meant to be for him.

It made it difficult to want to try.

Quietly and thoughtfully and without any hesitation, he set to putting books and other research materials away as soon as he stepped into the library.
