Rita is mysteriously absent. That is, unless students have some sudden urge to look under her desk for insects.

On the board is written:

Please turn in your writings on the campus couple of your choosing.

Ms. Sullivan, enjoy your detention on Saturday.

Ms. Gilmore, do not attempt to feed anyone in this room.

Please sit quietly.

[ooc: I'm going to be gone for a few hours. So feel free to talk amongst yourselves, speculate where Rita is, etc. I'll be back later to have her show up and interact. :)]

Chloe signed in.

John signs in and he is not a hat today!

Self-explanatory, really.

If Chloe looks smug when she comes in, she looks even moreso after seeing she has detention. Writing that editoral was entirely worth it though.

She turns in her homework about the unbelievable adorableness that is Jake and Krycek, and sits down.

"Detention?" John quirks an eyebrow. "What'd she give you detention for?"

"I'm assuming it has something to do with my editorial in the paper this morning," Chloe says, still smirking. "I don't know why she's mad at me. It was her quill that wrote everything," she adds, doing her best to look innocent.

"Oh, I read that! That? Was awesome," John says, smiling. "She's mad because she knows it's true and can't believe you called her out."

"I can't believe I did either. I think I was just inspired last night when I was putting everything together." Chloe shrugs. "It's just one detention, it's not the end of the world. And I at least feel a little bit like I won." She looks John over a bit. "Are you all right after yesterday?"

"Just fine," John replies. "No side effects from being a hat. I feel no urges to jump on people's heads or to provide cover from the rain. Did you get to wear me yesterday? I can't remember."

"Alas, I didn't." Chloe laughs. "You looked good on Rory and Xander though."

"Did I?" John preens. "I'll consider being a hat as a career if my first choice doesn't work out. Since Skeeter's not here right now, maybe I'll make it one class without being something."

Chloe nods happily. "We can certainly hope so. That would be a nice change of pace, at least."

"Then what would the radio report on? We'd be a boring class again," John laughs.

"Yeah, but no one would wear you," Rory pointed out as she breezed into class. "Is she here? Because I think the rule is that we can leave if she isn't."

"She is, thus far, absent like an absent thing," John says. "Maybe she had a breakdown."

"We can only hope," Rory said, rolling her eyes. She turned in her work, and turned to go. "I have, like, stuff to do."

And with that, she walked out ~~and I gave myself only half credit for the day. Shame. SHAME.~~

Xander Harris is never seen without his trusty partner in crime, his ace in the hole, his most awesome friend of friends. Xander and Twinkies are peas in a pod. One talks, the other doesn’t so there’s no room for misunderstandings. The relationship is quiet, peaceful, and beneficial to both.
