Self-Expression- Monday- 4th period

You know what was nice? Not having to really plan too much for class because you'd assigned this week's activity last week. It was nice when that happened.

"Hope everybody figured out their speech subject for this week," Kitty greeted them. "A reminder on the guidelines in case you weren't here last week or didn't prepare and now have to figure it out on the fly, I want a speech under five minutes about something you really care about. You can use notes if you want, or don't, all I care is that you sell it to us. So, who wants to start?"

Eleanor was nervous, but tried to cover as she read from her note cards. (It was mostly reading straight from her note cards, with occasional glances up as she remembered that she ought to look around the room now and then.)

Her topic was the need for regulation in scientific experiments, particularly emphasizing that a lack of regulation did not free up brilliant minds for innovation but rather led to cut corners, dangerous research failures, and unethical measures.

Her speech was a little short, but full of details and hypotheticals.
