Armed and Dangerous [Tuesday, Period Four]
Today the Danger Shop was set up as an open air driving track with a rather incongruous collection of vehicles near the start line, ranging from the classic to the sleek the rugged to the... very rugged
"Good afternoon," Bond greeted his class once they'd arrived. "I trust you all had a relaxing time over the holidays, but I'm afraid it's back to work now."
Bond rested a hand on the hood of the nearest car. "Not many people think of cars when asked to name a weapon, but they're large hunks of metal capable of travelling at tremendous speeds and they cause a distressingly large number of deaths, often including the person driving them. Therefore it seems wise to at least touch upon the basics of driving, if only so you never actually accidentally use them as weapons." Which was why he'd included the tank, yes.
After explaining the hows and whats of actually driving the vehicles provided, he continued. "Now, as with firearms, different makes and models of cars perform differently under different conditions, one might be capable of high speed and great manoeuvrability but only on sealed roads, others might be able to travel through all kinds of terrain but only at fairly low speeds and handle like a drunken moose. Which is why I would like you to try tackling the course in at least two different kinds of vehicles today."
