The Modern Workplace and You [Friday, period 1]

"So like next week I guess the whole school's going to Bali," Cheryl said casually, sitting on the edge of a desk. "Which is like...pretty far away, I guess. I mean, it's definitely a long enough flight that I passed out at least once and then woke up and might've passed out again last time we went. Long-ass flight. So, you know, guys, enjoy that part."

“I am going to find a nude beach, and get drunk on rum,” Pam declared happily. She had no idea where Bali was. But there were beaches, and that meant there had to be a nude beach somewhere. “The school’s paying for this, right?”

Pam did not make enough to go to Bali. Pam did not make enough to go to Baltimore.

"Whatever, let's stow away," Cheryl said, starting to get a little wild-eyed. "It doesn't matter if they're paying if we just go and then like, surprise, we're there! Just like we used to do with Ms. Archer?"

Except the school was totally paying and they didn't have to stow away at all.

“I am not hanging out on the can while you bang Cyril,” Pam shared, thus ensuring that no one in class was going to want lunch today. “But that sounds like fun! They can’t charge us for tickets if we sneak onto the plane!”

Airports frowned on that sort of thing, Pam. Especially post 9-11.

“So that’s our discussion today, kids: how are you gonna get to Bali? There are all kinds of ways to make sure you end up going on international trips, like hiding in someone else’s compartment, or hooking up your own train cars, or getting packed into someone’s luggage because he can’t go three frickin’ days without a booty call.”

That was how Pam had gotten to go to space!

"Or whore yourself out to start a space colony!" That was how Cheryl had gotten to stay in space for awhile. "Whoever comes up with the most creative way to stow away gets a trip to Bali!"

Unless they hadn't signed up. Otherwise they got the same trip to Bali that everyone else did.

[Please don't actually stow away on the trip. Pam and Cheryl have issues.]

"I don't really...scrunch," Rilla tried.
