As the students enter the room they'll see a table that has an array of various materials that no normal teacher would ever provide a student could possibly create an explosion.

"Hopefully you got my e-mail last week to bring in something that you don't mind getting destroyed," Mac says with a small grin. "Because today we are going to blow it up."

Sam sat, but relaxing was beyond her current capabilities. "I don't think that's possible, sir."

"Look, these kind of things happen all the time, but there's no reason why we can't continue to work together in a professional relationship," Mac said looking pretty unrelaxed himself. "But this can't happen again. So the next time you see a gremlin? Back away."

"Understood." Mortified, Sam nodded, but didn't argue with Mac's analysis of the situation. Better that he didn't know. "I don't know what I was thinking."

"Right, so let's just say we forget the whole thing and be happy there wasn't a pirate-bush someplace to record the leather pants," Mac said right before his face became beet red. "I mean 'what happened'."

Sam bit her lip and looked down, desperately trying not to snicker. "Forgotten, yes. Absolutely." Lots of nodding, maybe a little tiny smirk.

Mac sighs. "Okay, so are we good here? No more awkwardness or anything?"

Mac sighed in relief and smiled. "Excellent. I also want the recipe for that homemade C4 you made. Um... strictly for educational purposes."

"Sure!" Relieved, she rattled off a list of ingredients. "And thanks for letting us blow stuff up today. Seriously, it was just what I needed."

"Do I need to know who's jacket that was?" Mac asks with a grin as he wrote down the ingredients.

"Probably better if you don't, since you're a professor and all." Sam winked. "I understand plausible deniability is important."

"Like I told Crichton, 'hell hath no fury' goes double if the woman in question knows her way around a block of C4."

Sam smacked the palm of her hand against her ear. Maybe she had water in it and hadn't heard Mac properly. "Excuse me?"

"I asked your Aunt Samantha out on a date," Mac repeated himself. "She's not allergic to MSG or anything, is she? I was thinking of taking her to that Chinese place."

Sam tried to regain her composure. Eighth? On a date? Chinese food? Buh? "Er, do you think that's wise?"

"Why wouldn't it be?" Mac said with a confused look.

"Because she's a toaster?"

"Er, because she's another teacher? And my..." she cringed, "aunt? Don't you think that's a little weird? I know it makes me uncomfortable."

"You think it's weird?" Mac says, once again slightly oblivious. "I mean I can see why you might think that after Friday, but I thought we just cleared that up."

Sam didn't facepalm, but it was a really, really close thing. "We did. But I meant because I'm your TA and she's related to me..." She started flailing slightly. "Plus, we don't exactly get along. I'd hate for her to do something bad to you because of me."

"Carter is there something you need to tell me?" Mac asked looking very concerned.

"Yes." Sam widened her eyes and tried to look pitiful. "I don't want you to date her. And I can't tell you why."

Mac looks at Sam for a minute before nodding. "There's more to this than me going out on a date. Am I right?"
