"So, let's get real here for a moment," James said, putting his feet on his desk and leaning back. "I'm barely teaching you real chemistry, it's Valentine's Day, so of course we're going to talk about your love lives. That's because my options for tonight are the Spice Lounge in Waldorff, going for five stars in the Erotic Thriller category on Netflix, or chaperoning the dance and hoping one of the hotter teachers is sad about the fact that she has less options than me right now. So you're going to let me relive my youth vicariously through you. What do you have going on? If you share, I'll teach you a chemical reaction or two. Trust me, it'll be worth it."

"That's right, you've got to cut through some BS to learn something this week. That's the way life goes. I'm full of lessons today!"

How's your love life? Got anything going on tonight? Don't give so much detail that even James feels creepy about it. Just enough to make him angry that he didn't get more action in high school.

Wait, this suddenly seems counter-productive.....

"I love the Spice Lounge!"

"Okay, if you want to do this, have some handouts (http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-make-perfume/?ALLSTEPS) and follow along. I made a bunch of bottles earlier this week, so you'll be able to skip Step 6. Just like on a cooking show!"

Any perfume you make today will be stored after Step 5 until you want them in the future. Any of the perfumes James started that you want to finish off is yours. He's not going to keep them forever!

"Hey, notice how that last experiment needed vodka per the instructions?" James asked. "Turns out, that's also one of the best alcohols to spike punch with. Here's another handout."

Step 1: Fill flask with vodka.
Step 2: When the dance is getting boring and nobody's looking, empty flask into punch bowl.
Step 3: Alert Professor Sanders that the punch has been spiked.
Step 4: Independent investigations. Professor Sanders will see how spiked the punch is through empirical research. You can do whatever you want.
Step 5: Don't puke at the dance.

It's likely that he'll be doing more experiments with vodka once you've left the room. That was his Me Time.

SO. I'm going to be in another country next Friday. Anyone want to cover for me? Clearly, the standards for teaching this class are not high.

I'm willing to accept subs from the student pool, other teachers, or townies. :D
