Student Council, Friday, Lunchtime

When the students arrived for their meeting, they'd find the usual assortment of sandwiches, chips, and sodas, but there were also carafes of hot chocolate, and Zoe had a cup of the good stuff in her hands already.

"Good afternoon," she said. "I hope you've all been staying warm. Believe it or not, tomorrow is the first day of February, which means we've got to get planning for Valentine's Day." If she made a bit of a face at the mention of the holiday, she was just thinking about all the pink. "The dance will be Friday, on Valentine's Day, so we need to think of how we want to decorate. I suppose we could come up with a theme," although she wasn't sure how they'd beat last year's idea, "so does anyone have any ideas they'd like to try?"

Jessica probably would have been off training already, but StuCo responsibilities were StuCo responsibilities. So she stopped in, got some hot chocolate, and started trying to come up with ideas.

Ah, hot chocolate. Just the thing Evan needed this afternoon. He would also accept 'a puppy and a good book,' but with the meeting and all...

Well, he'd take the hot chocolate.

Valentine's day was another weird Earth holiday for Alana, so she was going to sit here, sip her hot chocolate, and hope she could figure out what was going on without sounding stupid.

Don't mind Cordelia. She'd just be looking for the nutrition information on the hot chocolate before trying anything.

They just snuck calories in on stuff like this.

Yay, hot chocolate! Those were both good words.

Emma poured herself a cup of chocolate, even though she didn't have any cinnamon to doctor it with.

"Just spitballing an idea, but since this is a school dance, it would be nice to do something educational. Maybe combine science and some relationship stuff to get Animal Magnetism. That gives us the option of both having animals and magnets involved," Jessica said. "That's two different kinds of science."

"Oh, that would be fun." How much glitter could they get on things? How much?! "We could rent animals!"

NO, LOKI.

"There is the shelter in town," Evan mused. "The puppies could always use exercise, right?"

A beat.

"Or maybe one of those travelling petting zoos! With the baby goats and little pigs and things?"

Because nothing screamed 'Valentine's Day' like livestock.

"I like that," Alana concurred. "Maybe we could even have horses or camels or something for people to ride on."

Most romantic idea ever.

"I could procure goats!"

Giant goats. That were actually more like ill-tempered war horses.

"If anyone asks, I'm not with any of you," Cordelia announced, because that's what you did when goats came up.

"We'll keep your involvement quiet," Jessica said. "But you may have to work on the goat sashes in return."

She was assuming there would be sashes. With glitter.

"Could we just...um. Sort of lie low?" Cecil suggested. Valentine's Day was dangerous!

"Not really," Jessica said. "That would really fly in the face of Fandom tradition."

Oh, this was another of those island oddities! Well, that explained it; Cecil only hoped it wouldn't make the carnage too bad.

"Tradition's important, I guess," he reluctantly agreed.

[OOC: WTF, I apparently got no notifications for Cecil yesterday! Sorry.]

"No, dances are okay, I guess." Cecil bit his lip. "I'll just make sure I'm well protected and armed."
