Handling Your Powers, Tuesday

"I don't know how many of you have powers that tie into the way your body functions," Kaidan said, "Though I have some idea. My biotics-- are integrally bound into the way my muscles work. I have to have perfect control of my body when I'm using them, because certain motions activate bursts of energy."

He crossed his arms. "That's why what happened last weekend is never a good time for me," he said. "When my body changes, the foundation of my reflexes change. When my reflexes change... I start making kitchen appliances float."

Kaidan managed a wry smile before continuing. "So today we're going to be dealing with the body in its resting state," he said. "For some of you, accessing your powers comes naturally, like breathing. Some of you, on the other hand, forget they're even there, and I think a lot of that... has to do with the way you've trained your body to react, consciously or subconsciously."

"So first I want to talk about that - how much does your body factor into your powers? Then I'm going to show you a couple of exercises they taught us to figure ourselves out."

"Much of how Blood abilities work is often gender-based," Surreal offered. "There's things that some females can do that males never can, and vice-versa. You won't see a male as a Healer, for instance, because one has never been born with that particular caste. It isn't a matter of societal gender roles, but in what your Craft is able to do, and males simply can't use Craft in that way. It doesn't work."

She wasn't going to mention about females losing the ability to use basic Craft at times. Because Surreal wasn't going to set herself up as a target.
