Self-Expression- Monday- 4th period

Today the Danger Shop was done up like an art studio today, if a really, really large one with a lot of blank space on the walls.

"So there's this thing called art," Kitty began. "I think I probably don't have to explain that much to you guys. Art's probably one of the easiest ways to express yourself. That doesn't mean you have to be any good at it. Even if it's just splattering paint or marking up paper, whether you're going for skill or catharsis or just trying to make something pretty, you're still saying something with it.

"That's what you're doing today. Do something creative, whatever comes to mind. There's a ton of moddable art supplies, so if you want to go ahead and work on a painting or drawing, go ahead. If you want to sit there and doodle at a table, you can do that, and there's a sheet that'll even tell you what your doodles mean. Don't take it seriously, it's for fun. And if a canvas isn't enough space for you, do something to the walls. It's the Danger Shop. Have at it."

Raven was more used to expressing her creativity with her shapeshifting. She was willing to give paint a shot, though.

If she called abstract, that meant it didn't have to look like anything recognizable, right?

Cecil grinned at Raven's abstract. He looked around to make sure nobody else could hear, just in case, then whispered, "Think you could change into something like that?"

"Sure," Raven said easily. "Well, maybe. I've never tried something that wasn't at least shaped like a person or an animal."

"I'm really awful, aren't I?" Cecil asked, biting his lip. "You could have so much fun being creepy."

Raven laughed at that. "And if I ever need to hide out in an art gallery, it'd be good to know I could do it."

Cecil laughed. "You'd be the best art ever!"

Jim didn't know immediately what to paint. But then, an idea struck him! He decided to paint something that he'd give to Natalie and insist it go up in her office or work area or wherever she did her stuff.

And the painting wasn't gonna be great. It was just gonna be some color and some stick figures and maybe a dog or two but he was gonna put his boyfriend-y heart into it.

And he'd totally pull that card if she didn't want to display it too.

Karina was... not super into the whole drawing gig, though she started off the class intent on giving it a good try.

It wasn't her fault that her doodles starting turning more into lyrics, right? She hummed quietly to herself as she scribbled things down.

Since he'd been researching paladins lately, Will's doodle was turning into what looked like a knight in some lopsided armor. His skills and powers did not extend over to artistry and that was very obvious.

Celia's powers were back. And as nice as it had been to have a break, she also had really, really missed them.

Her doodles were done in colored pencils, and totally abstract; she was mostly concentrating on what she could possibly do later this afternoon, in the physical world.

Bay was in her element, and she barely glanced at the other students once she started painting. It wasn't anything elaborate -- ax girl #576, this time with a paintbrush in her hand -- but it felt good to be doing it.

She viewed it as practice for the community college art course she'd start on the mainland in a few days.
