Self-Expression- Monday- 4th period
Kitty started out class by sitting on top of her desk until everyone who was going to show had filed into the classroom, at which point she got up to close the door.
"Hopefully that's everybody," she greeted them, and smiled. "I'm Kitty Pryde, and this is Self-Expression. Which, in case you don't know, is how you manage to get across to other people who you are and what you think. And it's hard enough when you're a teenager to figure out who you are in the first place, let alone what you want to put out there for the rest of the world, or in some cases how to say what you want without putting your foot in it. Then you throw in self-consciousness and the occasional cultural thing that prevents you from saying or doing things... So the point of this class is to try and help you get through that, taught by someone who probably could have used more of a filter when it came to this stuff."
At least she had some insight on herself at the grand old age of twenty-one.
"Today we're going to go ahead and be cliche, and we're going to go around the room and do introductions. I want to know who you are, where you're from, and why you're taking this class. Let's start with you there."

Introductions
Re: Introductions
He grinned. "As for why I'm here, I dunno. I'm actually really good at expressing myself and getting what I want but hey, I guess I could always be better."
Re: Introductions
What.

She cleared her throat, suddenly nervous. "I didn't enroll myself in your class, sorry, but since I'm here, I do hope to gain some confidence and eloquence in my speaking and expression. Words come clumsily to me, at times, and my meaning often becomes lost."

"I've spent a lot of time in Westchester myself," she said. "And it's good that you're actively trying to get away from that. Shutting up is boring anyway."
This was weird, but Kitty could still be encouraging.

Most likely the nuns would have been scandalized at the idea, really.

At least, displaced forward. Her head had started to hurt a bit when Jim said when he was from.

She waited for any raised eyebrows before continuing.
"I have trouble expressing myself," she said. Or having the opportunity to do so, really. "I tend to keep it in, and then it comes out as rage."
It hadn't escaped her that she had enjoyed setting Splicers on fire a little too much.

She could say what she wanted to say in her paintings. Not always with actual words.
Re: Introductions
It was kind of nice to know they really did exist somewhere.
