All Evan had really wanted to do during a quiet library shift today was read. He'd gotten all of the books put away and there wasn't much he could do on the computers with the big pair of fluffy mittens that were currently stuck to his hands, so there wasn't all that much left that he could do otherwise.
Except... well... had you ever tried turning the page on a book while wearing mittens? It was something that was far easier said than done, and it meant that Evan kept missing large chunks of the story he was trying to get through. It was enough to make a stretchy shapeshifting mutant kid want to grow another arm.
And when, on a whim, Evan tried that, the hand on that arm was wearing a mitten, too.
Evan sighed, shifted back to normal, and decided to limit his reading today to science magazines with short articles. At least that way, he wasn't missing out on any important plot points.
