Breaking Things 101, Wednesday, Period 3
"Uh, hey, everyone," Bruce greeted the class from up front. "I'm Dr. Banner and I'm covering for Professor, uh, Electroclash today. I guess the administration thought I had experience in this topic."
He was darkly amused, but if you didn't already know why, he wasn't going to tell you.
The Danger Shop was set up to look like a long stretch of highway, complete with a fleet of motorcycles and helmets and gloves all set up, waiting for the students to each claim their own. There were some ramps and random obstacles in the middle of the road to drive around (or run over), and about a mile or so down the highway in one direction, there was a "door" set up in the middle of the road, programmed to be made out of sugar glass.
"Today we're going to be breaking things and/or braking on pedals," he said. "Nothing in this simulation will hurt you, and the glass you'll encounter isn't real even in terms of what it's programmed to look like, so feel free to run over or drive straight through whatever you'd like. The simulation will regenerate anything that's destroyed in time for the next person. Or, you can brake - b-r-a-k-e, I mean - if that's what you'd prefer. Up to you."
He gave a quick explanation of how to ride a motorcycle, but kept it short and to-the-point. Then, grinning a little, he said, "Go for it," and waved an arm out in the direction of the bikes.
