Live Entertainment Appreciation, Thursday, Period 5
Today's Live Entertainment class had been told to meet at Fast Eddie's, where Jono (thankful to be back in proper clothing after yesterday's Portalocity kerfuffle) handed each student a roll of quarters as they walked through the front door.
"Right, then. Rather than doing battle with Portalocity twice this week, especially after last week's… unique field trip, and since they went and stole my bloody trousers yesterday, I thought we might take in some of the entertainment that the island itself has to offer. And then I realized that aside from my own bloody theatre and the cinema, there aren't exactly many options."
Really, he couldn't win, could he?
"But there is the arcade. A collection of games to be played, along with all of the bright flashing lights and noise that comes with it. I'm calling it close enough, because you have to get off your behinds and go outside in order to experience it. It's got a different feel than sitting on your arse at home with a game console, doesn't it? So, take your quarters and have fun for the rest of the period, or however long it takes for you to run out, or whatever makes you happy. I'll be over there at the pinball games, but there are racing games and shooting games and there are pool tables somewhere, and lord only knows what else. Go on, then. Set some high scores or something."
And that was that.

Re: Talk to Jono!
Ah, to hell with it. He had more quarters. He let marble number two drop, and then turned to face her, leaning back against the machine.
"Is there a time that works best for you, luv?"
Re: Talk to Jono!
"During the week?" she wondered. "Or on a weekend? I can make either work."
Re: Talk to Jono!
There was always so much on the go, he often forgot.
Re: Talk to Jono!
"It's hard to narrow it down," she said. "My schedule can change in a moment." Due to Hero calls. "I've got class first thing tomorrow, but I can drop by after."
Re: Talk to Jono!
And the monologue.
Re: Talk to Jono!
Karina wasn't particularly modest about that fact either. Why should she be?
Re: Talk to Jono!
Unless there were gremlins involved.
Re: Talk to Jono!
Intonation counted for a lot, after all.
Re: Talk to Jono!
"It can all be very nuanced," Jono noted, nodding. "Or blatant. If you'd like a hand with it on Sunday, we can go over a few possibilities for your characterization. I've seen more than my fair share of people succumbing to their darker urges to be able to give some input on that."
And he was the director. It was kind of his job.
Re: Talk to Jono!
Kinda. But she was going to stick with that anyway.
"I'll see you tomorrow, barring unforeseen circumstances. Have fun with your game."
She was going back to her shooters.
