School Auditorium: Auditions, beginning Noonish.

The lights are up up on the stage, and Dewey sits in the middle of the center aisle of seats, a notebook and pen in hand, and his iPod at the ready in case there are any lulls in auditions.

Yes, that is seriously how low-key Dewey has set up auditions. Get up on stage and do your monologue and sing your song, and you shall be properly auditioned.

"And it'll be fine."

Rory might not have been really talking about John and Aeryn anymore. The whole situation was still weighing on her.

She cleared her throat. "Anyway. Were you around for Valentine's Day?"

Lee is quite sure that nothing will be "fine." But he doesn't say anything about it.

"Yeah, I did get back in time for your strange earth ritual of love. Did you enjoy the holiday?"

"I didn't do much, actually," Rory said lightly. "Just hung out in my roo - "

She stopped, looking vaguely horrified. "Um. I had some really good ice cream. And a nice book. That I really enjoyed. What did you end up doing?"

"You did not celebrate this earth love ritual with someone else?" Lee asks, confused.

"Don't have anyone to celebrate with," Rory shrugged.

"What about your friend, Anakin? Or do friends not hang out on that sort of ritual night?"

"Um, he came by for some ice cream and to cheer me up. Single and alone and all of that, you know. That's what friends are good for on Valentine's Day"

"That was nice of him," Lee says, nodding. "You guys are such great friends."

"Well, yes. BFF," Rory nodded.

Lee grins. "How's he doing these days?"

"He's good," Rory said, returning the grin.

"That's ... great!" Lee says, desperately trying to think of how to small talk better with Rory. OMG.

"So, my dog has an invisible friend," Rory said, going for the fallback of late.

" A what?" Lee asks.

"My dog has a friend who apparently only dogs can see," Rory shrugged.

Lee blinks. "Huh?"

"Yeah, I don't get it either. I'll introduce you at some point," Rory shrugged. "So, are you auditioning? Or did you already and I missed it?"

"Already auditioned," Lee admits. "It was kinda fun. You?"

She grinned. "Cordy and I are directing."

"Oh lords," he moans.

"What? I'm good at getting people to listen," Rory pouted. "And at least you know it's someone ~~who is a total pushover for pretty boys~~ who'll be nice."

"So should I start presenting you with flowers and wine? Are you casting as well?"

"No, Mr. Finn is. We take over after." She fluttered her lashes. "But I am always a fan of flowers and wine, anyway."

Lee winks broadly.

Rory blushed, and vowed to tell Angela about this gleefully.
