School Auditorium: Auditions, beginning Noonish.

The lights are up up on the stage, and Dewey sits in the middle of the center aisle of seats, a notebook and pen in hand, and his iPod at the ready in case there are any lulls in auditions.

Yes, that is seriously how low-key Dewey has set up auditions. Get up on stage and do your monologue and sing your song, and you shall be properly auditioned.

[ooc: Wait for OCD! OCD up! Audition to your heart's content!]

Alanna came up on stage, cleared her throat and realized she didn't know the tune to the song. Shrugging, she made the tune up as she went along. At least she could carry a tune.

I have often dreamed
Of a far-off place
Where a great warm welcome
Will be waiting for me
Where the crowds will cheer
When they see my face
And a voice keeps saying
This is where I'm meant to be

I will find my way
I can go the distance
I'll be there someday
If I can be strong
I know ev'ry mild
Will be worth my while
I would go most anywhere
to feel like I belong

I am on my way
I can go the distance
I don't care how far
Somehow I'll be strong
I know ev'ry mile
Will be worth my while
I would go most anywhere
to find where I belong

Alanna coughed and recited a poem thing she had learned. Her eyes are firmly fixed to a spot somewhere in the back of the room. At least it's short.

I never knew war, I was born far too late
I read all about it in books everywhere
I didn't believe in the stories of heroes
I saw but the blood of a mother
who's children were not to return

I heard the stories from those who survived
I dreamed I saw the men die in blood
I thought I knew war...but it then came for me.

Alanna fled back to her own seat.
