Rhythm he had. Try manipulating ten monofilament wires that can slice you into shreds without it. What he didn't have was practice with modern dancing, so he was a bit unsure. He nodded along with the beat and decided against some of the moves Victor had shown him in Empire Records - those were a bit much for a school dance with Nadia, but he began to move a bit with the music and watched her for hints for what to do next.

Seeing he had the beat down pretty well, she started tapping the rhythm on the tops of her thighs. "Then find the rhythm. Then you just do what feels right."

Here she started just stepping lightly from side to side to the rhythm. "Side to side works well for beginners. Step on the beat, bounce on the off, or do whatever you feel."

She gets her hips into it (she is Latin, after all) and lifts her arms up by her head, just moving with the hard beat of the music. "It's easy."

Walter nodded. The hip thing seemed to be ubiquitous, first Victor had shown him, and now Nadia, so he went with it. It must just be part of the way modern dancing was done.

For all the dancing he'd been doing, he was beginning to think he should take some classes.

Hip shaking, beat bouncing, minimal arm waving because that just doesn't seem all that guy-like, but Walter was having fun and grinning at Nadia.

Nadia was grinning back. Walter's moves might not seem guy like to a lot of Americans, but he'd fit right in in Buenos Aires. She added a little pivot turn to her steps and nodded approvingly (to the beat of the music, of course). "Good! Very good!"

"So you aren't going to mock me relentlessly?" he asked, mimicking the pivot turn before reaching out to take Nadia's hand and pull her into a ballroom-style spin before dipping her backwards.

Nadia's grin got just a touch shmoopy, and then it went a touch manic. "Nope!" she squeaked. "That I won't. Not for dancing, anyway."

"Good," Walter said, lifting her upright and taking a couple of steps back, still moving with the music. "I'm sure you'll find something else, right?" He was grinning broadly, definitely enjoying himself.

"I'm" she swallowed. "I'm sure I will." She danced back from him a bit. "I might need some more 'punch' after this song."

Walter nodded, "Good idea. We'll have to pounce on Pippi for the secret ingredient."

He looked up as the song drew to a close and gave Nadia a deep bow. "Thank you for the dance."

Nadia's curtsey was about six thousand times less graceful than her dancing. But she tried. "Thank you." She straightened.

"Go. Find your boy before he thinks I stole you."
