Valentine's Day Dance. The Gym. 8.30 pm

The gym was decorated, the DJs were playing, and the punch was not yet spiked.

Fandom High's Valentine's Day Dance had begun.

"Of course! We're colleagues. Whatever information I have is for your use as well!" Tick said.

"Thank you kindly," Fraser says and steps closer. "I've noticed an unsual fascination some of the citizens have taken with my hat. I was wondering, is that normal around here? Have other people had their hats so heavily scrutinized?"

"Well, there aren't many behatted people around, really. Perhaps it's the fact that the hat of a Mountie is such a strong symbol of Justice that they are struck intrigued," Tick offered.

"Granted, that would be a little strange since a Mountie hat isn't actually a common symbol of Justice around here. Maybe it's just the fact that it's a keen hat?"

"I hadn't thought of it exactly that way," Fraser says, considering the statement. "Most of the time, when I meet someone new, they ask about my hat. I've even let a few student wear it. Has anyone asked to wear your antenna?"

"Well, no. Nobody has."

The Tick wasn't sure whether to be relieved, concerned, or just confused by this.

"Hm." Fraser takes off his hat, examines it, puts it back on his head before taking it off again. "Does there seem to be anything unusual about my hat? I mean, this town is prone to unusual happenings and perhaps my hat is part of that?"

"No, it looks perfectly fine to me. Maybe it's the fine Canadian worksmanship," Tick suggested.

"Quite possibly," Fraser says and puts the hat back on. "I am sorry for boring you with questions about my hat. You teach criminal justice? How do the students enjoy that particular subject?"

"Trust me, chum, I could never get bored while talking about such a great symbol of Justice!" Tick said honestly. Because he's kinda weird.

"The students seem to enjoy themselves quite a bit. I think they like learning about the way Justice and the Law work. You know, if you wanted, I'm sure we could arrange for you to deliver a guest lecture about your experiences serving the people."

"That's excellent to hear, Mr. Tick." Fraser nods agreeably. "And guest lecture? You think you're students would be agreeable to that?"

"I think they'd enjoy a guest lecture," Tick said. "To be honest, I think I confuse them sometimes. They'd probably appreciate a day with someone who thinks a bit more linearly."

"I'm sure I'll confuse them as well," Fraser answers. "The RCMP is not a well known organization in the United States. With my luck, they'll be interested in my hat."

"Egads, man! Have more confidence in your speaking ability! These students love Justice! They'll love you talking about Justice! Give it a shot!" The Tick was very enthusiastic about this.

Fraser can't ignore the enthusiasm and smiles. "Very well. I can't resist a passionate argument such as that. I'd be glad to guest lecture."

"Excellent! We'll work out a date for it later on, chum! Thank you!" Tick said.

"I look forward to it Mr. Tick," Fraser says. "Thank you for the opportunity."
