Valentine's Day Dance. The Gym. 8.30 pm

The gym was decorated, the DJs were playing, and the punch was not yet spiked.

Fandom High's Valentine's Day Dance had begun.

Parker throws back her head and laughs. "They're playing my song!"

She twirls out onto the dance floor and lets loose, then beckons to her friends still off the floor. "Come on! You know you love this one!"

Hanging out with the single people is fun. But sometimes you have to dance. Isabel grinned and joined Parker. "Hey! You look nice."

"And you look maaahvelous," Parker responds, spinning and singing along. "Having fun in the Bitter Place with Peter and company?"

"Thanks. And I wouldn't call it bitter so much as snarky and biting." She twirled, loving how the skirt of her dressed fluttered about. "We're having fun though. And it nice seeing everyone dressed up for a change."

Sam decided that she'd had enough of being grumpy for a minute and went out to join Parker and Isabel on the dance floor. Her movements weren't completely rhythmic, but they certainly were lithe.

"Looking good, Carter!" Parker spun by, then leaned in and grinned. "I think the DJ is watching your ass!"

Sam whirled around. Oh, yeah. Very smooth. "Which DJ?"

Aphrodite winked at Sam.

She aways did have a soft soft for smart, spunky blondes.

Sam blushed, but added a little hip action.

"The guy! Although, I think the blonde is checking you out now," Parker said, highly entertained.

Sam grinned. "Okay, so maybe being single isn't all bad."

Isabel stepped back to give Sam room to join them. "Yay Sam! No more standing around! Dancing is fun."

Sam grinned back and kept dancing. "Definitely helps to take your mind off stuff."

"Stuff?" Isabel asked as she tried to keep time with the music. "Should I ask?"

"There is that part of it," Parker allowed, shimmying a little as she winked at the DJ. "And people seem to be having fun. Yay! Another StuCo non-failure. Awesome. Can't have Professor Lyman here at a dance that bombs, can we?"

"I'm mildly amused that the corner full of single people is the busiest in the room. But you're right. It is a success. Yay for StuCo." She followed Parker's gaze towards the DJ. "Am I seeing things right? Is he wearing Spandx?"

"It really, really is." Parker marveled a moment. "There's no way he's completely straight, but I find I don't care. Preeeeetty." She laughed. "Now, the other DJ-- that's an incredible use of netting, I gotta say."

"Very true, very pretty." Isabel looked at the other DJ, "Well that's certainly different. Definitely not me though. But she seems to be pulling it off reasonabley well."

Marty hears Parker on the dance floor and laughs. "Parker, how could this song *not* be your favorite?"

Parker blew a kiss to DJ 'Dite and said, "Exactly!" Then she grinned. "Come, dance with the bad girls, Blank!"

Marty jumped in and started dancing. "Oh you're not that bad, are you Parker? Deep down you must have a heart of gold. No one can keep a fluffy bunny like that and be that tough."

"Platinum, bud, pure platinum!" Parker grinned and mirrored his moves, saying, "Hey, did Angela mention Sunday to you yet?"

"Nope," Marty said tossing off some fancy dance moves. "What's going on then? We have gun club going on in the afternoon."

"I know, but around two, Jarod's having a moviefest. You're welcome to come along." She shrugged, then rolled her eyes. "Although I'd be smarter to keep you apart!"

She spun around and laughed.

"Sounds like fun!" Marty said, "And like I told you... my days of plotting against you are over. I prefer to keep my brain matter in my head. You'll have to come over to the gun club for a couple of rounds before we head over to Jarod's."
