Valentine's Day Dance. The Gym. 8.30 pm

The gym was decorated, the DJs were playing, and the punch was not yet spiked.

Fandom High's Valentine's Day Dance had begun.

Lurking. Angel was good with lurking. Particularly when it was nowhere near the dance floor.

Callisto was equally good at lurking.

Didn't mean she was quite so fond of it.

"You did a great job," Angel said.

"Thanks," Callisto smiled. "The decorations turned out well."

"I helped." Angel pointed. "See those? I painted those hearts."

"You did? They're pretty." And thankfully not anatomically correct.

"Thanks." Angel smiled. "Normally I don't work with paint. But, you know, special occasion."

"You do good work," Callisto said. "Even if it's not your usual medium."

"Didn't want to let you down."

Callisto pressed a kiss to his cheek. "You didn't."

Bigger smile now. "Yay me."

Callisto grinned back. "Of course that doesn't mean you're getting off dancing."

"Slow songs?" Angel asked, hopefully.

"Slow songs," Callisto agreed , nodding.

Visible relief crossed Angel's face. "All the slow songs you want."

"Careful," Callisto warned. "I'm going to hold you to that."

"I'm going to insist that you hold me, yes." Angel grinned.

"Darn," Callisto sounded terribly put-upon. Really. "Well, it's hard job, but someone has to do it."

"This is why you make a good StuCo president," Angel said. "You give and you give and you give."

"What can I say, I'm a giver."

"You know what songs they're going to play," Angel said. "Anyone you like?"

Callisto thought about it. "That Ever the Same song, it's not that great." she said. "But it's so earnest."

"And it's slow?"

"Very slow."

"Perfect. I love it. My new favorite song."
