Science You Cannot Possibly Comprehend, Monday, Period 5
"You have had a full day to reacclimate to your light school week, so you should be able to get right into work," Doom said, the second class started. "Before break, you were instructed to program robots to do certain basic tasks. Now you will refer to your robots' logs, as well as the half-melted husks of any robots that made nuisances of themselves."
"Now!" Time to get to work, everyone!

Listen to the Lecture
Check In On Your Robot
through modding your robot NPChow it handled the following basic tasks.*Saluting the Doombot in a non-profane way. Profane salutes will be considered a malfunction and the robot will be destroyed (on video).
*Lift a box and move it to the other side of the lab.
*Choose their own name.
*Do basic multiplication tables from 1 to 12.
*Shake hands with their fellow robots.
Is it still intact? Did it malfunction? Did it inspire the Doombot to destroy it?
Re: Check In On Your Robot
Of course, he'd still been a bit out of sorts after the weekend, and talking to Carlos hadn't exactly helped. He'd ended up with a perfectly functional and somewhat depressed robot.
It saluted by raising its hand and howling, as was proper
in Night Vale. It moved the box, but sighed the whole time. It picked the name Dierdre. It shook hands as limply as a metal creature could manage. And it gave up halfway through the multiplication tables, threw up its hands, declared, "What's the point, anyway?", sat on the box and moped for the rest of the week.Re: Check In On Your Robot
He turned on the terminal and started putting the robot through its paces. Not that he was too worried about it hitting its benchmarks; he knew he and Topher had done a good job.
Re: Check In On Your Robot
Although why it had decided its name was Jacques Töppönen was anyone's guess. That had been some minor glitch somewhere in the programming, but it appeared to be the only one.
... And was probably the result of Karolina accidentally leaning on something during the programming process.
Destroy Your Robot
"If you wish to keep a copy of the artificial intelligence you birthed, you may use the high capacity memory sticks at your workstations. That is your work. Do with it what you will. Once you have done that, wipe the robot's memory and activate the safe self-destruct sequence as instructed on your terminals. When you activate the destruct sequence, the robots will melt from the inside. If you choose not to do this yourself, I will do it at the end of class."
If anyone tried smuggling their robot out of the lab, they would find this happening as soon as it was out of the room.
Doom planned well.
