Live Entertainment Appreciation, Thursday, Period 5
"I told Portalocity to just surprise us and just pick an outdoor sporting event of some sort today," Jonothon admitted, standing on the Causeway a few extra steps back from the class, hair a little more tousled than usual and an uncharacteristic smirk on his face. "I think we could all use a break from this bloody island, at least for an hour or two. The fresh air will do us some good, hopefully, and there was no way in hell I was coming up with a proper class this week."
At least he admitted it.
"So, I want you all to be on your best behavior out there in the stands. I'm not in any mood to figure out how to bail you from an ancient Roman prison or something, this week."
Without any more ado, because honestly, getting off the island couldn't hurt any of them today, he waved his students through the portal, and into… a set of bleachers that were raised a fair distance off the ground. From their shaded seating, they could see that there were fourteen people flying out over a field. Half of them were dressed in robes of blue with silver arrows on them, the other half was wearing robes of black and yellow stripes with a wasp on the front, and all of them were riding around on… broomsticks.
Jono just sort of stood in the stands and stared for a minute before clearing his throat and taking a seat.
"I actually have no bloody clue what this is," he admitted. "But I suppose we might as well sit down, watch, and find out."
Enjoy a professional Quidditch match between the Appleby Arrows and the Wimbourne Wasps, students.

Lecture!
Snacks!
Students have a plethora of magical junk food to choose from, some things more palatable than others.
· Acid Pops (These will burn a hole through your tongue. You might want to ignore these.)
· Blood-flavored lollipops (For vampires, of course.)
· Chocoballs - full of strawberry mousse and clotted cream
· Chocolate Frogs - come with a collectable card of a famous witch or wizard in each pack. Might also try to escape on you.
· Cockroach Clusters (With real cockroaches!)
· Drooble's Best Blowing Gum (Fill the air with bluebell-colored bubbles that refuse to pop for days)
· Fizzing Whizbees (massive sherbet balls that make you levitate)
· Fudge Flies
· Ice Mice ("hear your teeth chatter and squeak!")
· Jelly Slugs
· Licorice Wands
· Pepper Imps (tiny black candy that makes you "Breathe fire for your friends!")
· Peppermint Toads - peppermint creams shaped like toads ("hop realistically in the stomach!")
· Sugar Quills (suck on them in class and you look like you're thinking)
Drinks are a lot simpler. Water, juices (a lot of pumpkin), and butterbeer, served hot or cold.
Re: Snacks!
Thus, she was currently twirling a black parasol in one hand, holding a bag of cockroach clusters in the other, and looking -- as much as one could when one's mouth was stuffed with a blood lolly -- like she was having the time of her life.
"Oppph mmmmmm gheeee dif iff awfum!"
Re: Snacks!
problemsfun catching. He grinned hugely at Mavis. "It is! And I can float by myself today!" Those fizzy things were a lot of fun! Also, he was totally shoving a bunch of the pepper imps in his pockets for Raven later on; he thought she'd get a kick out of using them to breathe fire as a dragon.

Re: Snacks!
"That looks like a lot of fun, too." He got some fudge flies for Foucault, who was sort of clinging to/wrapped up in his sweater to avoid all the feet in the stands. "I wonder if they sell the broomsticks?"

"I've decided to cheer for the wasps," he explained. "Mr Starsmore likes the arrows. What do you think?"

Quidditch!
Re: Quidditch!
He fed Foucault a few fudge flies and tried to see what was going on.
Re: Quidditch!
A few nearby witches and wizards just gave him a strange look at that reply. Who didn't know how Quidditch was played? Honestly!

Yellow was not a Jono thing.
Re: Quidditch!
Talk to Jono!
He's given up on eating junk food while they're here, though. His first attempt at eating chocolate actually croaked at him and hopped away.
OOC!
Many thanks to
