Sports and Stuff [The Gym, Tuesday after classes]

Right, so Cade had totally forgotten that he was supposed to be in charge of something last week, but this week seemed like a good one for blowing off steam, so he'd put up posters (well..."posters." He'd written "CLUB MEETING FOR GETTING SWEATY AT THE GYM TODAY. BE THERE OR I'LL KICK YOUR ASS" on five sheets of paper, stuck them in common rooms and called it good) and headed down to the gym.

He sat down on the center of the mats and waited for people to arrive. When they did ~~because I'm modding you so he's not lonely and insane sounding~~, he said, "Today we'll start with basic sparring."

Because sparring was a sport now, all right? Shut up.

"Pair up and try to take each other down. Don't pull hair or kick people in the junk because that's tacky. Save that for when you're really in trouble. Afterwards we'll have snacks."

Or head back to bedrooms for making out, since it was that kind of week...

Because nothing could possibly go wrong with being sweaty and touching each other this week! Noooope!

Yes. Sparring! This was a brilliant idea!

Sparring! Against other members of the club...who were all boys.

...dammit.

Cade smiled at her. "Up for getting sweaty?"

This will end well.

Clearly.

"Sure," Korra replied, bouncing on the balls of her feet. "If you think you can take me?"

Korra, no.

Cade smirked at her. "Oh, I can take you."

Cade, stop.

Korra smirked right back at him, falling into a ready stance and crooking her fingers at him. "Then come on and show me what you got."

Korra, remember what happened last time with Jackson?

No, wait, don't remember, that wouldn't help at all.

Cade, still smiling, moved in close and swept his leg out to trip her.

Korra hopped over Cade's outstretched leg as it swept past her, then punched at his shoulder as she landed. "I thought this was going to be hard."

Heh, hard.

"Well, I didn't want you to get discouraged right from the start," Cade said, taking the punch and retaliating with a couple attempted blows to her stomach.

He was definitely moving more quickly than he had been a moment ago.

Careful he didn't go too fast, or it'd just be embarrassing,

Korra twisted, letting the blows glance off her side as she moved in closer and reached for Cade's top, intending to toss him across the mat.

Cade did love getting thrown around by women, but today he was more interested in staying close. He twisted out of the way of her grasp and kicked out at her knee again.

Korra was too close to effectively dodge, but as her knee bent, she moved to hook her good leg around his ankles and bring him down with her.

Which was not at all what he'd planned.

Really.

Stop looking at him that way.

"Hello there."

Korra was not a great strategist, so she definitely hadn't planned it, but there was no reason for her not to take advantage of this.

"Uh, hey."

You know, as soon as she figured out which kind of advantage she'd actually take.

Well, seeing as how he was a teenage boy, there was very little going on in Raleigh's head that wasn't normal.

Though he was warmer.

And looking around for someone to spar with.

Or hit on each other. You know you'll hit on each other.

Jackson was choosing to stand around awkwardly. Sparring? Way too up close and personal when he was feeling as... not in total control of himself, as he was.

No one wanted to get accidentally clawed, right?

Cade nodded at him. Not awkwardly, but not in a "hey there" kinda way either.

Let's not get crazy this week, right?

The best Jackson managed back was a kind of a blank look of disinterest.

He was not a great people person at the best of times.

Theo wasn't great at hitting other people so he was just going to choose to...stand here awkwardly and hope this all ended soon. He still didn't feel great and Ange and Dev were still trying to keep him in control.

Cade gave Theo a nod of heterosexual comradeliness.

Totally a word, even if Cade maybe just made it up right now.

And Theo nodded back. He'd just stand back and watch Cade spar with the only girl here so far. Because that would do wonders for his frame of mind.

Absolute wonders!

He could ask Jack! That would go well!

Or hit on them.

A room full of sweaty, hormonal teenagers, and absolutely nothing Jack could do but grit it out.

She was drinking water. A lot of very cold water.

Ugh.
