Blair wasn't sure whether to be happy or offended.

"Uh...I guess? I gave you a gift and we had small talk over a beverage and I mean...isn't that what a date is?"

Molly was still looking at Blair in mild shock, the fork of cake in her hand now forgotten completely. How could she have gone on her first date and missed it completely?

"I don't know," she whined. "I thought a date was when a boy asks you out and picks you up and you dress nicely and you go to a movie or dinner or something. You never said it was a date," she pointed out.

"Oh" Blair blinked again.

"I'm sorry Molly, I didn't say it was date. I didn't know that you didn't know what it was. I thought dates were just anytime someone asked someone else out. I can't believe this! All this time I've been worrying about telling you that I was dating other girls too and you didn't even know we went on a date!"

Molly's shoulders slumped and she looked down at her food. So not only had she missed her first date, but the boy she'd been on it with was also dating other girls at the same time.

"I'd never been on a date before, Blair." She looked up at him with sad eye. "I'm sorry I didn't know."

Blair sighed at Molly's dejected apperance. "Oh, Molly. I'm so sorry. I hadn't ever dated before either and I just wanted to do it right so I was researching it and I didn't know that it was wrong to date more than one person at a time and Jaye was just for research and Nadia found out and sorta dumped me or something and I really didn't know." He took a deep breath and lowered his head.

"I'm sorry that I wrecked your first date, Molly."

Molly shook her head. "You didn't know," she said and then gave him a sad grin. "I didn't even know. I just thought we were being friends."

She set down her fork. This was too much. Too much sadness in too few days. Cam was sad because of Vala which made her sad for him. Aeryn had left with very little notice which made everyone around her sad. And now she'd misunderstood what she thought had been a growing friendship. Blair had thought it was a date and she didn't know if he even wanted to be friends with her. She felt stupid and just wanted to leave now.

"Umm, I have to go now. I forgot I have a thing." She stood up and turned to go, leaving her half eaten cake and untouched Sloppy Joe's behind.

Blair stared after her and groaned. Molly was nice and he liked her and if nothing else wanted to be her friend. Dating sorta messed everything up.

He glanced at his watch and sighed. He was late for student council too. He gathered his backpack up and left.
