Student Council [Friday, Lunchtime]

Since this was the first meeting of the school year, Zoe had made sure there was plenty of food with which to welcome everyone. There was pizza, some sandwiches, chips, sodas, and a variety of cookies, only some of which were pumpkin flavored. She wasn't sure what the pumpkin thing was all about this time of year, but she'd managed to escape the bakery with normal items too.

"Good afternoon," she said, smiling at everyone once they'd gotten settled in. "Thank you all for volunteering to be on the student council. I certainly appreciate it, and I know the students do too, even if they don't say it. We've got a few things to take care of today. First, we have to pick one of our seniors to be the president of the council, assuming any of you want the job, and then we've got to plan the next thing coming up, which is Parents Weekend in two weeks." Consider that your two week warning to clean your rooms, kids. "So, which one of our seniors wants to speak first?"

"Hi. My name is Jessica Drew, and I'd like to be considered for Student Council President," Jessica said. "I've been here a full year now, and I'm very familiar with the way the school operates and how much of an impact the students can have both inside the school walls and out there, in town and beyond. I have experience co-running a club with Loki - I'll see you all at the club fair later, I imagine - and I'm enough of a science nerd that I like to see what new things people can come up with. I'm confident that this group can come up with some pretty great new things to do this year, and I'd like to help get us there."

"Also, I believe in tradition, so I advocate the continued use of glitter at dances. Maybe less glitter, but glitter nontheless."
