Jenny has chocolate hearts, cinnamon gummy bears, and a whole bunch of other kinds of Valentine's Day candy set out for her students. Along with red fruits--cherries, strawberries, raspberries, red apples--and bagels, cream cheese, and coffee. Always coffee. The door is closed in order to minimize disturbances from the hallway.

"All right, guys, we've been talking about Jung all semester, but one thing I haven't gotten into yet is that there are plenty of people who criticize his theories a whole lot. So that's what we're going to do today. Check over the following handouts on the the collective unconscious, pseudoscience, and the Myers-Briggs Personality Test that we took earlier this term. Angel read through the handouts. "You know, it occurs to me that science itself is hard to prove when you've got scientists who won't believe in things like ESP or magic. Doesn't that mean they're flying just as blind as they're accusing pseudoscientists of being?"

"People tend to rely on proof," Rory shrugged. "Can't say I blame them."

"If they're not accepting it, and it meets the generally accepted criteria for scientific research?" Jenny nodded. "You're right. Science isn't supposed to be adhered to rigidly and without change, but you get people who go to extremes."

And much of what Jung says in his theories is so subjective that it cannot be readily proved through empiricism.

"Which is a very good point, and why we're talking about skeptics and their feelings about Jung today," said Jenny. "How do you feel about it?"

"Well, there are actually studies disprooving ESP."

"And there are studies proving it too," said Jenny. "So which ones are you going to believe?"
