Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

There were plenty of tables and chairs scattered around the lawn for anyone who wanted to sit down once they'd had their fill of the buffet, or to recover from starting to find out what this place was all about. No one would judge the need to take a mental breather.

Seriously Fandom, wtf flower crowns?

Some of the tables were out in the open, for those who weren't allergic to the sun, and some of the tables were in the shade, or far from the rest of the crowd for those who needed a little more space to process. Wherever people decided to rest, there was space enough for everyone.

[OOC: This is part two of the picnic, separated in an effort to save our browsers for as long as possible. Part one, to run into siblings, roommates and teachers, is over here, though teachers are also welcome in this post, of course. Because the picnic is outside, it is open to all students, teachers and townies!]

"Not at all?" Cecil blinked for a moment. "Oh! Do you photosynthesize or something? Danny over at the Stop-n-Go back home does that." He wrinkled his nose. "I think he just does it to impress the girls, though."

"No," Anna said. "No, I'm a ghost." This wasn't generally a first day sort of revelation, but she thought Cecil could handle it.

"Oh!" Cecil beamed at her. "Neat! Wow, you're really good at being solid." His hand flew to his mouth. "I'm sorry, was that a terribly life-ist thing to say?"

"I'm not exactly your standard ghost," Anna explained. "It's complicated. There was a curse."

"They can be nasty things," Cecil said sympathetically. He leaned toward her. "I don't mind saying that I'm very curious - I have an investigative mind," he added proudly, "but I like to think I do know how to be tactful. So if you don't want to say, I won't ask."

"Oh, I don't really mind," Anna said. "I'm...used to it, I guess? It's just...if I get too upset that tends to go really badly for everyone."

"Well, I won't upset you, then," Cecil vowed, nodding decisively. "And if you ever need soothing, just..." his voice broke, and he sighed. "Come see me in about a year; I'm told I have a very soothing voice once it's settled."

"You're told you do?" Anna asked, a little confused.

"Oh; sorry." Cecil grinned a bit sheepishly. "I should've said. I'm really older, but I had to de-age for a bit. Normally I'm all grown up. That's why I wanted to be somewhere with time moving faster. To get re-aged sooner, you see?"

Cecil frowned, thinking. "Sometimes, maybe?" He tried to think of something weird that had happened to him, and couldn't. "But it's all good," he finished, smiling and shrugging.
