Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

There were plenty of tables and chairs scattered around the lawn for anyone who wanted to sit down once they'd had their fill of the buffet, or to recover from starting to find out what this place was all about. No one would judge the need to take a mental breather.

Seriously Fandom, wtf flower crowns?

Some of the tables were out in the open, for those who weren't allergic to the sun, and some of the tables were in the shade, or far from the rest of the crowd for those who needed a little more space to process. Wherever people decided to rest, there was space enough for everyone.

[OOC: This is part two of the picnic, separated in an effort to save our browsers for as long as possible. Part one, to run into siblings, roommates and teachers, is over here, though teachers are also welcome in this post, of course. Because the picnic is outside, it is open to all students, teachers and townies!]

"Yeah, you're not wrong," Flick agreed with a nod. "And it's probably not the strangest thing that's ever going to happen to you either. Hope you're not easily surprised."

"Oh believe me, I'm not," he said. "I come from a pretty weird town myself."

"Weird like the lady on the corner talks to herself and cleans her cats -- "

Also known as New York.

" -- or weird like you can't stop singing one day?"

"Weird like werewolves."

Flick raised an eyebrow. "Uh huh. So weird like 'I thought that only happened in movies' weird. Interesting. Good werewolves or bad?"

Was there such a thing? Flick knew there were good witches and bad witches, apparently. Thanks, American cinema.

Isaac shrugged. "There's good ones and bad ones. Just like humans, only grumpier on the full moon."

"Uh huh." Flick was just taking this all in stride and letting it roll off of him otherwise he'd just go insane. "So, which are you?"

Relevant question since Isaac was gonna be in the same building and he'd want to know if he needed to rent a hotel on the mainland during a full moon.

"What makes you think I'm a werewolf?" he asked.

"Nothing," Flick said breezily, actually impressed that Isaac had caught onto Flick making an assumption in the hopes of finding out some information. "But, if you'd answered that question, I would have known you were. You caught on, though. A lot of people would just answer something like that without thinking."

"I've gotten good at hiding things over the years," he said with a shrug. "It's a good skill to have."

"Agreed." Flick guessed that was a talent with a lot of people here. "No one needs to know about my life but me. They didn't live it, I did."

Isaac nodded in agreement. "It usually brings on a lot of unwanted judgement."

"And you tend to get enough of that without people knowing every single thing about you."

High school was made for judgment without any reason. It was its lifeblood.

"I guess it's hard for people to judge around here," he said. "Everybody seems to have something weird about them. I saw a girl with wings."

"Yeah?"

That was something new. Flick made a mental note to check that out when he could.

"You seen the pink pony yet?"

"Uh, no." He would have remembered that. "Does it talk or is it like a mascot?"

"Talks," Flick told him. "Not a mascot from what I've been told. So, actual talking pony. I think she's a teacher."

"How did a pony get a teaching license?" he asked.

"Why do you have a flower crown on your head?" Don't ask questions that Flick didn't know the answer to, Isaac.

"Point taken," he said on a sigh. "I have a lot to get used to."

"Adapt fast. That is my sage piece of advice for you," Flick said, popping some food into his mouth.
