Library, Thursday

Today had been shaping up to be a nice, normal day in the library. A nice, normal day, with all the books in their place and not even all that much work to do, right up until Evan sat down with one to pass a bit of free time while reading.

And that's when he realized that some of the books in the library were no longer working. They'd simply ceased functioning. Exactly how a book could stop functioning had been a mystery to Evan right up until that point, but he came to learn the hard way that it seemed to involve a meat smell, sparks, and biting.

So, instead of reading today, he was going to spend the rest of his shift gathering up the offending books, stacking them up off to the side, at least until somebody could figure out the nature and cause of these problems. If Evan looked a little distraught as he did so... well... books.

Maybe he'll have better luck with the faulty ones? Or maybe he'll choose to ignore it. Or maybe something else entirely. Who knows?
