Sentient Pets and You- Thursday- 4th period

The students were in the Danger Shop today, where they were in what looked like a small park. Also, the bamfs were back, and poking their heads out occasionally before showing up near their pet-owners for class purposes.

"Hey, everyone. Sorry I missed last week, but I kind of got eaten by a locker? Yeah, so in case you didn't know, you can get eaten by a locker," Kitty greeted them. "Be aware. Anyway, thanks to Gert for helping out, and this week we're going to talk about communication with your pets. It's really easy to say you want this or that, and if you're in a loud room or whatever, you can gesture to get your point across and the other person can figure it out. But without human speech, or in a lot of cases, hands, it gets a lot harder for your pet to tell you what they need.

"So this week, your bamf has been programmed with one specific thing they need you to figure out. Your job is to decipher what they're telling you, and to fix the problem. The longer you go without giving them what they want, the more rambunctious they're gonna get, so there's that."

See, that. That was why it was easy for Kitty's teammates to complain when she programmed the Danger Shop for their training sessions.

And reunite with your bamfs.

Each bamf has a different thing they're trying to tell their caretaker:

Billy- Bamf wants to play
Gert- Bamf just wants cuddles
Korra- Bamf is hungry
Loki- Bamf is not happy unless it's getting into trouble
Ryan- Bamf doesn't feel well
Stiles- Bamf is overtired
Yeul- Bamf has to go to the bathroom

They'll get more insistent about their problems the longer it takes for you to figure it out, because bamfs are a pain most of the time.

Do you know how happy Kitty was to not be in a locker? Do you?

It will be a Thursday for spamming the flist...

"Oh my God, you're so skinny!"

Kara was a little jealous, shh.

And Kitty wasn't sure if that was a compliment or an 'eat a sandwich' thing. "Uh. Thank you?" she said. "Can I help you with something?"

"Oh, I just wanted to meet you and say what a fan I am," Kara gushed. "I was one of your biggest defenders on LiveJournal when people were saying that your skanky outfits at Caritas were a slap in the face to people still mourning the loss of the original Kitty but I told them that you were sooo much older than her and besides a strong woman can wear whatever she wants and not be labeled as an object, right?"

Breathe, Kara.

"...Where do I even start there," Kitty said, staring. "What?"

"Oh, sorry," Kara said, "I'm Kara. I'm the mod of the Clitty fangroup."

Worst namesmush ever? Very likely.

Oh god,

"The Clitty fangroup?" The thing was, Kitty was pretty sure she knew what that meant and really didn't want to, but she asked anyway.

Kara nodded. "Instead of Nasties--they want you with Natasha--or the small but rabid Blackeye people."

Korra was busy introducing Pablue to Naga, since she'd been unusually clingy since earlier that morning.

Given that Naga was furry bottomless pit, Korra figuring out the sad look Pablue was giving her was a no-brainer.

"...People want me with Natasha?" More staring. "Okay what are we talking about here?"

Gertrude Yorkes

"Sex, generally," Kara said, missing the question's point rather spectacularly, "though there's a pretty active section of cuddling naked in hot tub fics out there too."

....

Oh god.

"People are talking about me having sex- Oh god. Who are you again?"

"I'm Kara," she explained. "I've been watching this show since the very first episode."

"Okay... what show?"

Obvious question was obvious.

"Fandom High, of course," Kara said, blinking. "You guys really should win more Emmys."

Uh.

"This isn't a show."

"Ohhhhhhhhh, it's a calling, right? That's so deep."

"Sure, whatever." She was so confused. "Go back to my skanky outfits and the original Kitty."

Who she thought was the Kitty Emma had liked, which was still almost as weird as anything Kara was saying.

"Oh, original Kitty died in the very first fall sweeps," Kara said, nodding enthusiastically, "killed by evil Angelus the vampire before they shoved a soul back into him."

She sighed. "Though I did miss his leather pants."

Kitty knew of a few AUs out there where she died (including one that made her reluctant to ever go by Kate, "Clitty " or not) but it was still weird to hear. Especially in the same sentence as "sweeps."

"Was phasing not an option?" she wondered.

"Not that I can remember but honey, this was eight years ago and I was only half-watching at the time. I was waiting for them to get back to CJ and Ten."

Ew, Kara.

"You only half watched my death?"

Not the point, Kitty.

"I was breastfeeding!"

With Kara, there was no such thing as oversharing.

"...Didn't need to know that," she said. "But you namesmushed me, you'd think how I died warranted a research- Oh god, I'm taking this seriously."

"Well, I did some research but the powers thing is kind of boring, you know? Just jump to the good part, okay?" Kara said. "The part where Clint takes his shirt off."

"Okay, I can't fault you there." What, she was a Clitty shipper. "But you shouldn't be watching that. That's private."

"Oh, the soundtrack is totally tasteful," Kara assured her.

"There's a soundtrack?" Kitty said, a little loudly. "I mean. Um. How much do they show?"

Someone was a little concerned about that whole recent handcuffs discovery.

"Not as much as some of the fics that come with pictures," Kara assured her.

Well, "assured" her.

"Wait, WHAT?!"

Billy Kaplan

"Go to the Clitty tag on Tumblr," Kara told her. "You'll see."

DO NOT DO THAT, KITTY.

Teddy was jumping around Billy, miming throwing a ball back and forth, so it didn't take too long for Billy to figure out what he wanted and crumple up a ball out of paper. He had to admit, it was kind of cute.

"God, no." She was not new.

"If you give me your email address, I can send you the tasteful ones," Kara said. Because obviously Kitty would give her email address to a random person she just met.

"Sure, it's nowayinhell@gmail.com," she said.

Kara frowned. "I'll bet that's not right."
