Around the World in Seven Weeks [Tuesday, July 9, 2013, 2nd period]
Two men--one tall and blond dressed in Jedi robes (if you recognized that sort of thing) and one younger, shorter, stockier and redheaded, wearing jeans, though with the same bright blue eyes as the older man--waited for the class in front of the Portalocity office in town.
"Ho, everyone," the redhead began. "I'm Ben Skywalker. This is my grandfather Anakin--I know, he doesn't look it, long story, not really important--and this class is Around the World in Seven Weeks, where we send you through a portal to a new country every week, give you activities to complete and then expect you to return to us in one piece."
"Without having ticked off the people who live there," Anakin added a little vehemently. "Today," he said, striding over to the map of the world Portalocity had up on the wall ("We'll take you there! Or close enough!") and pointing to a country in South America, "we are going to Paraguay, a nation known for--"
"--not being Uruguay?" Ben suggested with a grin.
Anakin frowned at him. "Anyway, you are heading to the capital city of Asunción, where you will be given two tasks to complete, as well as finding us again in our end location. Be safe, don't get lost, and we'll see you at the end."

Detour: Stacked Up or Strung Out
In Strung Out, you travel to an auditorium at the Universidad Nacional de Asunción and properly string a harp, the national instrument of Paraguay. Once it's properly strung and ready to be tuned, the instructor will give you your next clue.
Re: Detour: Stacked Up or Strung Out
The base of the pyramid was what he concentrated on and once that was stable, stacking the other watermelons was actually pretty easy. He couldn't believe he'd managed that but he had so he took off for the next activity.
Re: Detour: Stacked Up or Strung Out
Stacking watermelons, she rapidly discovered, was not a talent of hers. It took her much longer than she would have liked to get it done and, by the time she got it done to the fruit monger's satisfaction, she was wishing heartily that she'd taken the other option.
Re: Detour: Stacked Up or Strung Out
Ugh, whatever. She picked the watermelon thing, which seemed way easier than dealing with a harp, like that was cool or something. And while the watermelons weren't fun at all to stack and no matter how many times she dropped the, "Hello, new manicure, how about some help here?" they made it do it all herself but she'd swear up and down that yelling at the watermelons to stay the hell where they were helped.

Re: Detour: Stacked Up or Strung Out
And this time he remembered to shove an energy bar into his pocket so after stacking the watermelons into a pyramid, he actually could regain some energy.
Re: Detour: Stacked Up or Strung Out
No, no, no, you didn't understand. They had walked into a building in Fandom and then ended up in another country.
Did anyone else realize how mind-blowingly, well, mind-blowing this was?
Apparently not, because people were merrily going about their business while she stood there and gaped at everything. It wasn't until the merchant poked her and pointed to the watermelons that Kathy remembered she was supposed to be doing something other than staring stupidly at everything.
There didn't seem to be any rules other than 'stack,' so Kathy lined up ten watermelons and then put a wooden crate on either side of the line to keep them still. The other watermelons went on easily after that.
The fruit monger looked like he wasn't sure if that counted, but he gave her the next clue anyway, sending her to the Plaza.

Road Block: Dance, Monkeys, Dance!
Once you've completed the dance to your instructor's satisfaction, she will tell you were to find Ben and Anakin.
Re: Road Block: Dance, Monkeys, Dance!
He started getting frustrated when Ange seemed to exert more of an influence over him for just a moment and calmed him down. He broke one more bottle before he managed to get the dance done and headed for the finish line.
Re: Road Block: Dance, Monkeys, Dance!
Karina figured that had to make up for some of the time she'd lost to the watermelons.

But Cordelia had a long and storied history with cheerleading, which meant she was actually really good at learning new routines on the fly, so this wasn't really as difficult. She broke one bottle right off, at which point she yelled at someone for giving her a defective one, and got it right on the second try.

Re: Road Block: Dance, Monkeys, Dance!
The sound of a breaking bottle reminded her to get her head back into the game. This dance wasn't too difficult for a gymnast with practice balancing things. She just needed to focus.
The second bottle stayed up and then they shoo'd her on her way.
Well, at least she figured that's what they were saying. Because most of it was in Spanish, as she was in freaking Paraguay!

It was too bad that others had gotten there before her but Karina felt generous and didn't begrudge them that too much.

"This is a really weird class," she announced when she got there, just in case they didn't know they were running a really weird class. "And I'm not paying for that bottle."
