Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I
The weather was just as hazy, hot and humid as a typical July on the East Coast of the United States could get, but the sun was shining brightly, which was kind of a rarity this summer.
It wasn't raining anything weird, the teal deer were keeping to themselves in the Preserve, and another welcome picnic was underway complete with tables and chairs for chatting around and a buffet table filled (and then some) with all kinds ofmoddable summer treats.
The lists of new roommates, student siblings and teaching buddies were posted in a prominent location. Now all that was needed were people to enjoy the day!
[OOC: This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic will be in post two in an effort to stop our browsers from dying. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers and townies!

She also had a Hi My Name Is MAVIS DRACULA tag, because might as well get the Yeah, yeah, that Dracula, don't worry, his growl is worse than his bite thing over with right at the beginning, and nametags in general, eh. With the number of conventions she'd helped her dad host, she'd long ago gotten over feeling dorky about them, even if he wouldn't be caught undead wearing one.
"Mar-ah-see-ah?" she pronounced carefully but correctly, before getting to the helpful parenthetical. "Wow, I love your hair! My aunt has a streak just like that." Except for the part where she could literally hide a beehive inside her beehive. "Are you a Stein too?"
[OOC: Super super SP apologies in advance, since tonight/tomorrow is either going to be packed with guestage or unexpected availability depending on their utterly unpredictable schedule. Pokemon Regional Championships, I kid you not. ♥]

Sia smiled a little, and assured her, "You're young." Because at sixteen, she could say that. "Did you just get in?"

"Just got up," Mavis said, inclining her head toward the fading light on the horizon. "My dad and I got in this morning, but we slept most of the day." Well, he had. She'd been bouncing around the hotel room since five or so, peeking out through the curtains and waiting for the sun to go down.
