Advanced Survivalism, Friday, Period 1

It probably wasn't a huge shock that Batman was a few minutes late to his final. It was exactly how he started the session, after all.

But then a few more minutes passed. Just as students might have figured this was part of a test, a laugh could be heard outside the door to the Danger Shop. "Heh heh heh heh heh heh heh. Welcome, kiddies!" the Joker said, bursting through the door on a rolling stand with a laptop on it. As he entered the room, a very large cage dropped around the students, keeping them separate from the clown. "Sorry to say, your teacher couldn't be here today... Well, who am I kidding, I'm not sorry! And you probably couldn't stand the guy! And it's not like he's even an expert in the field! If he was, would he let this happen to him?"

The Joker opened the laptop, which was showing a streaming video of a dazed Batman chained to a chair in what kind of looked like a large warehouse space. "I certainly don't think so. So I'm your sub, Professor Joker! I know what you're thinking and the answer is YES, I AM wired so that any sudden jostling of me by any of you will trigger a bomb that will end Batman's teaching career slightly ahead of schedule AND leave a block or two of your town in cinders. Also, you'll get detention, so I wouldn't rush to break out of that cage just yet, hahahaha."

"But I'm not here to threaten you!" Joker said. "Well, not just threaten you. I'm mostly here to give you your final survivalism lesson. And the truth is that all of this is a load of bunk! Nobody can survive forever! Sooner or later, your number's gonna get called, even if you are the big, scary Bat. In his case, that time is coming today, right after classes! And aren't you lucky? You'll get to watch it!" A website address started flashing on the screen. It was presumably the address of the live stream.

"Wait a minute. I'm your teacher now!" the Joker said, as if just realizing it. "Consider that your homework! Hahaha. Tune in to see Batman die or you won't pass the semester! HA! I wish I had a teacher like me when I was your age, kids."

"Well, I've got a few minutes to kill before I've got a Bat to kill. Anyone have any questions about how they're going to die or, well, anything else, really?" Joker asked. "I have the internet, so I can be an expert on all kinds of subjects!"

Talk to Stephanie

She presumably has some thoughts about the sub today. His thoughts about her are surprise that she isn't a young boy with black hair and tight pants.

And Stephanie's thoughts about him mostly involved rage, some panic, the incident that had almost gotten her fired as Robin, and on top of it all a few freaked-out flashes to a certain case in the Batcave.

Because trapped in a warehouse with a bomb, and . . . yeah. Babs had said once or twice that Steph reminded her of Jason.

Fighting off the panic was going to be a fun challenge, and so was debating whether to blow her secret identity.
