Summer Fitness, Monday 2nd Period, 5/20

Today, the overly muscular blond teacher had taken his rightful place at the head of the class. "Good morning," he said, "and welcome to Summer Fitness. I'm sure you all introduced yourselves to each other last week--and I do apologize for my absence--so I'll just introduce myself this week. I'm Steve Rogers, and I'll be your instructor. Mr. Rogers is fine. So let's just get into it. We'll do some warm-up exercises and then we're going to climb a rope."

Warmup! Anya was great at warm up. She might even chat while stretching.

"I can't believe," Raven whispered, stretching out next to Anya. She had enough natural strength and flexibility not to have any trouble talking during the warm up. "That I traveled between worlds and through time to take a gym class."

Sorry, Steve.

But it was Captain America! Not that Anya was going to risk her identity around people. Maybe this Cap didn't know her yet. That would weird.

"Is this a complain as in 'I already do this anyway' or as in 'I thought I had finally escaped this'?" Anya asked, grinning at her.

Raven shrugged. "A little of both. I guess how you work out hasn't changed much in sixty years."

Captain America -- who was only briefly famous a decade ago in Raven's world, and didn't look like this Captain at all, besides -- notwithstanding.

"The basics are the basics, right?" Anya stated. She had been doing warm up exercises since she could stand, after all. "Still, I don't want to twist anything where it shouldn't, so warming up it is."

"Can't argue with that," Raven said. "Are you an athlete, then?"

"Gymnast. It totally counts, even though I've met more than one jerk that thought they didn't," Anya said with a huff. "Which reminds me I'm going to need to find some gear or I'll get rusty soon."

"Of course it counts," Raven said. "Do you compete professionally, or just do it for fun?"

"I kind of have to compete, since I'm -was on my school team. I don't think Fandom really has competition though, so it's for fun now."

For fun, and fighting crime.

"It's a little small to have many sports teams," Raven said. "I didn't see anything about it in the brochures."

Normally, this was something that Zee would hate--the stupid stuff she had to do before she could get to the fun part. Except this was actually pretty awesome 'stupid stuff.' She got to move around and stretch and not be cooped up somewhere before forced to memorize stuff.

She was still out of condition, which meant there was a lot more panting and puffing than talking, but she was going to grin anyway.

This class ruled.

Shira was well used to exercise, though warming up always left her waiting to get to the good stuff in a frustrated sort of way -- largely because any athletics needed were generally displayed in a "don't have time to warm up, need to run and hide" sort of fashion.

But still, as she settled into the pushups, she somehow managed to give Zee a grin. "You look cheerful," she managed to say around the effort.

"It feels good to move around again," Zee said, giving the other girl a quick smile. "Been stuck inside for awhile. I'm kinda feeling it, but it also feels good to get started again, y'know?"
