Hunting 101, Wednesday (3rd Period)

"Welcome to Hunting 101. If you made a mistake and thought this class was about gunning down Bambi's mom, the door is that way," Dean said, pointing to it in case the class didn't know where it was. "My name is Dean Winchester, and the moose next to me is my brother Sam."

Ah, brotherly love in action.

Sam rolled his eyes at Dean... and then stood up a little straighter so he towered over him more. Take that, big brother. "The kind of hunting we want to talk to you about is the kind of hunting our family's been doing for a long time - taking out dangerous otherworldly creatures, with an emphasis on the 'dangerous' part."

"Ghosts, wendigos, rurgaru, demons... the works," Dean added, ignoring the looming figure of his little brother. Ugh, so unfair that even so much younger he was taller. "Aliens and bigfoot." He shrugged. "Can't say one way or another where we're from. So, don't ask."

Seriously, don't ask. He won't answer.

"Some of the tricks we know might not work where you're from either, but hopefully we can start to prepare you for just about anything you might come across," Sam said. "For now, we should probably start with introductions." It was a time honored tradition that Dean would get used to eventually. "Let us know who you are, and why you decided to sign up for this."

"Yeah, sure." Dean was a caring teacher.

"I'm Stiles--don't even bother with the name on the roster." He figured it was just nice to get that out in the open with teachers he didn't know. Surprisingly Stiles hadn't made friends with all the adults in town, who knew?

"And I'm in this class 'cause I deal with supernatural stuff a lot, both here and at home. Mostly werewolves."

Yeah, there was no way in hell Dean was going to attempt that name, so Stiles it was.

"What kind of werewolf stuff?" Because he was pretty sure there was no record of hearts being eaten on island.

"Like...my friends are werewolves? I'm regularly attacked back home because of werewolf stuff? I try to learn everything I can about them because werewolf stuff will probably be the bane of my existence for life?" Stiles tried. "Basically everything that can involve werewolves without actually being a werewolf myself."

"Raven Darkholme," Raven said, raising one hand in a little wave. "And I have no idea. I made the mistake of letting my brother choose my classes."

Which so far involved fitness, hunting, and trying not to die. It was like Charles was trying to tell her something.

"Well, brothers are like that," Dean replied. "All part of the territory."

Alec was actually looking forward to all of his classes this term, especially this one. And then he noticed that one of the teachers was that guy he'd walked in on in the dungeon. That was awkward.

"I'm Alec Lightwood," he said. "And I... hunt also, I guess. The same things you do. So I figured it couldn't hurt to learn other tips."

"Karina Lyle," she said, waving a bit. "I’m here because given the way this island likes to toss danger at us, knowing more about dangerous, supernatural beings seemed like a good idea."

Dean was there if there were any questions, of course. He could totally get used to this teaching thing. Way easier than he thought it would be.
