Advanced Journalism (Wednesday, February 15, 3rd period)

"Your assignment this week," Rita said, her head in her hands, her hair frizzier than usual, and her general appearance somewhat disheveled, "is an easy one. In celebration of bloody stupid goddamn Valentine's Day, I want you to write a fifty word article on your favorite campus couple. How did they meet? Where? When? Why are they so good together - or rather, what caught your attention?"

She looked up blearily. "Questions?"

John's not exactly sure what he's been turned into until he looks up...and Professor Skeeter's head is the size of a small planet.

He tries to run and ends up falling off the desk chair and then the desk chair looks like a small planet.

Stupid bugs!

John really can't apologize so he just nudges her fingers with his stickbug hands.

And he looks woeful.

If John could talk, he would say 'because Professor Skeeter is a separated, wig wearing, mean spirited, loveless woman.' But, he can't talk so he just crawls around and sniffs things.

Rory thought about doing something meanish.

She was in a good mood, so she did it.

She picked up wee stickbug!John, and walked over to Rita.

"You should change him ba - " she started, standing over her teacher. That's how far she got before, oh no, John tickled her again and she flailed, causing the stickbug to fall on Rita's hair.

Rita? Did not notice.

John is in Professor Skeeter's hair. C'mon, you don't get an opportunity like this every day.

So, he starts walking around in her hair, and, since the hair is so damn thick and dense, actually trips and collapses. While there, he starts slowly prodding Professor Skeeter's head with his stickbug legs.

Rita felt something, and reached up to touch her hair, and shrieked when she felt John. She grabbed her wand and did the first thing she could think of: she turned him back.

Or at least, she tried to. She didn't take a couple things into account. Namely -

1) He was on her head, and

2) She was pointing at her own head.

As a result, with a quick *pop*, John was no longer a stickbug, and Rita fell over with him on her head.

"Her" head being a relative term, since she had accidentally turned herself into John as well.

"Why do my clothes feel tight?" Rita asked. Interestingly enough, her voice was still her own.

"You look like me!" John grimaces and starts pinching himself. "My worst nightmare, this is my worst nightmare. You look like me!"

Rita shrieked, grabbed her wand, and pointed it at herself.

Unfortunately, she wasn't magical anymore. So nothing happened.

She thought for a moment, then kept pointing her wand, and did another spell she knew backwards and forwards.

It worked. She turned into a beetle.

"Professor Skeeter?" John kneels down and peers at the bug. "Need a hand? Or a green leaf to chew on?"

Rita skittered behind her desk, and a few seconds later, was herself again.

"Well. That was unexpected," she lied smoothly.

John stands up again and actually smiles. First person to make him do that all day.

"How'd you like being me?"
