Library, Wednesday, All Day

Sholeh couldn't keep still. No matter how hard she tried, she'd find her foot tapping or her fingers drumming or her hips shifting slightly in her seat. She'd been a jangly ball of nervous tension since Monday and it was only getting worse as the week passed. In an effort to burn some of the excess energy off, Sholeh had thrown herself into cleaning the library. Books were being dusted, shelves were being polished, even the walls were getting scrubbed.

She might not know what was going on, but she was going to tire herself out anyway, dammit.

...And if certain sections of the library (say, the romance, anatomy, and art books) were getting a little more thorough attention than others, well, who could say why that was?

John was handling this week with more aplomb than you could shake a stick at!

...yes, Dirty.

Still, he was in a fairly good mood in his office today, even if he was chain-smoking up a storm. The energy? Well, put towards research for now...and if his topic of choice today was succubi, well, could anyone blame him?

Besides, the bar would open soon, right? And then he'd be perfectly content. Especially if the girl from above him decided to work it again.

...yes, still Dirty.

Sholeh was his closest friend here in Fandom, so it made sense that Ulrik typically looked forward to his Wednesday afternoon visit to the library. But this week the anticipation had something of a... different... feel to it. Something he couldn't quite put his finger on. In any case, there were grilled tuna paninis and chocolate-dipped strawberries being placed on the counter, followed by a grinning Ulrik leaning up against said counter. "Keeping busy, I see," he commented.

Ulrik would argue that he looked great every day, thank you. But he'd also have to admit that Sholeh's enthusiasm was particularly charming today.

Normally, this would be the part where he'd tease her about just being glad to see lunch but instead he found himself blushing. Blushing.

"So, ah. Your week has been going well?"

Paint him like one of your French girls!

"I know the feeling," he said, tugging on his collar. "But on the plus side, we aren't just blurting out the first thing that comes to mind anymore, so..."

"Oh, agreed, wholeheartedly," Ulrik said with a nod. "Are you, ah, going to the dance?"

"Oh," he frowned. "Sorry- I hadn't realized that was the case," although if he'd known it would have been acceptable for him to invite her, he would've done so in a heartbeat. "And It is," Ulrik nodded. "I'll miss how refreshingly informal these dances are, compared to back home." Because even the formal-est of Fandom dances couldn't quite hold a candle to the stuffy functions that royal courts were expected to put on.
