Flight- Monday- 3rd period

If Jaina had known what was going to happen this week- or if she'd clued in more than vaguely knowing something was up- the students would have a class in the Danger Shop. In the open. And it wouldn't be a team effort. Instead, they were back in the flight shed this week.

"So if you're flying, every once in a while you're going to run into a situation where you need to work with others," Jaina began. "It'll happen if you need instructions, if you're working in tandem with another person, if you're part of a squadron, whatever. So today we're going to run through a simulation from before my time, the Battle of Hoth. You're flying two-person snowspeeders, with a pilot facing the front and working the turbolasers, and a cargo manager facing the back, working with the harpoon and tow cables. Your job is to work together to defend a power generator against the enemy. Try not to fake kill anyone but them."

"Want to be a team?" Victor asked. In part because everyone in the class was very pretty and he figured it was best to go with the prettiness he was most familiar with.

And for Karolina, it was a matter of choosing someone slightly less distracting than any of the girls in class would have been. It worked!

She gave him a quick smile. "Sure! I should warn you though, I'm not going to be great."

Victor cracked his knuckles thoughtfully. "I'm not bad. If you take the rear, I can take the front," he suggested. "...and I feel like I need to add 'that's what she said' to that."

Karolina turned a little red. And then sheepish. "Um, that sounds fine. I mean, taking the, uh, rear."

And then a little redder.

Oh God why.

And now Victor was red because Karolina was red, and he turned away before either of them could get blushier. "Let's go. Fighting might feel good today."

She considered it a win. A very nice win.

In between his parents and Uncle Luke, Anakin had heard the entire story about a million times, so he tuned out the instructions in favor of already planning what he was going to do. BECAUSE SNOWSPEEDERS.

Normally, this would be the bit where Ace was bouncing in her boots waiting for the lecture to be over so she could try to be the first into a cockpit.

Today, for some reason, it was the bit where she leaned against the wall, fanned herself with her notebook, and wondered who the hell had been playing silly buggers with the heating in here. They weren't actually on Hoth, after all; no need to turn the place into a sauna to make up for the fake snow.
