Public Speaking [Tuesday, March 5, 2013, 1st period]

"You've had two weeks to prepare a persuasvie speech," Josh said, "and being such dedicated students, I'm sure you worked on them while we were cruising around in Turkey."

No he didn't, but they were still due today. If they weren't ready, well...that's why they'd also been working on their extemporaneous skills.

"Five minutes on something you're passionate about! Try to make us care about it too." He pointed to a random student. "You start."

"And--drum roll please--our press secretary for the day is Kate Bishop."

This was not what she'd expected for her first class back, but Kate was good with it. Also possibly kind of looking forward to seeing what she was asked.

"Miss Bishop," Natalie started, "what is your stance on Fandom Island's long-standing practice of letting the students of Fandom High account for approximately ninety percent of the island's defence force in time of crisis? Isn't that child endargement? Shouldn't the adults of Fandom be looking out for the minors instead of the other way around?"

"Frankly, Ms. Adams, I find it refreshing that Fandom High acknowledges and accepts the contributions of minors in times of crisis instead of attempting to shunt them off to a 'safe location,'" Kate replied.

"Miss Bishop," Sparkle intoned, putting on his serious face, "could you please address your thoughts on this island's current, and might I say rather distressing, deficit of camels?"

It was an economic disaster, Kate. Trust him on this.

"It's always been my understanding that the camel is a desert creature, Mr. Sparkle," Kate replied, attempting to match his seriousness. "Does the island have a desert for the camels to reside in?"

Though camels would give the flamingos a good territorial battle in the park.
