Rita's classroom was very pink.

There were what appeared to be small, sparkling, soft pink insects floating near the ceiling, and pink and red streamers waving with an odd twinkling quality. There was also a small bowl of jelly beans on her desk.

"Turn in your obituaries," Rita said, looking decidedly out of patience. "Who did you write about? Why? How did you imagine they died?"

John just shakes his head and ends up chasing his tail because TAIL.

Vladdie hovered over to Rita and licked her nose.

Rita glared. And then patted him, because even she liked puppies.

Noticing that Vladdie's over with Rita, John trots over and plants his hindquarters on Rita's foot.

Rory sighed.

Rita stared down at John. "Get off my foot, Mr. Crichton," she said, petting Vladdie some more.

John is a dog. John is a yip dog. So, John makes a flying leap for Rita's wand.

"No," Rita scolded, moving her wand. Unfortunately it caught Vladdie's attention, and he could fly.

Rita flicked her wand at John quickly to change him back and then moved out of Vladdie's path. Quicklyish.

John's no longer a dog. And he can't see Steve and Vladdie makes no sense.

Damn, he almost misses that.

"Thanks, teacher. Good one this time."

"Your delusions are none of my concern, Mr. Crichton. And next time it won't be fun," Rita scowled. "Ms. Gilmore, get your dog."

Rory gave a sharp whistle, and Vladdie flew back to his bag. She peered at John. "Could you see Steve?"

"You are so my favorite teacher, Professor Mrs. Wilbur Rufus Skeeter."

Turning to Rory, John says, "Yep. He's not imaginary. Or he is to us but not to Vladdie. He's real."

"Yeah, I know he's real," Rory said as Rita went back to ignoring them. "Bridgey and Anakin could sense him. What's he look like?"

John looks down at Vladdie, hoping maybe he still has some residual dog communication skills.

Nada.

"Well, Steve's...a feline."

"Uh huh." John nods. "He thinks Vladdie's weird. I stood up for Vladdie though. But Vladdie apparently entertains Steve."

"Uh huh," John says, stretching his neck. "He's kinda nonchalant and laid back. Not nearly as hyper as Vladdie. Steve tried to give me advice."

"Stuff," John answers cryptically. "I'm not taking advice from an imaginary cat named Steve. Vladdie though? He's a smart boy. I think we made friends while I was a wee dog."

"Aw. He was friends with you before," Rory said fondly. "But did he like, talk to you? How weird. I think he talked to Cam when he was a wolfie, too."
