The Danger Shop was once again a lacrosse field, with empty stands on both sides. And Jackson was standing in the middle of it, in full lacrosse gear. Except for the helmet, which he was holding by his side. There was also a bunch of gear in a pile behind him.

Once it looked like everyone had shown up who was going to, he started to talk. "On the off chance that you don't know, I'm Jackson Whittemore, former captain of the Beacon Hills High lacrosse team which is currently heading for another state championship." And he was proud of that, even if he didn't really play for them anymore. "And this is the Fandom High Lacrosse Club." A slightly less proud moment for him, but whatever. "We're gonna start easy. Most of you know each other, but we'll still have a round of introductions. State your name, your year, and your level of familiarity with the great sport that is lacrosse. Or if you were already here last year, something you learned about lacrosse in the fall."

Simple, right? He nodded back towards the sticks and the balls behind him. "Afterwards, we'll keep it easy and you can just get warmed up by practicing passes. But first, introductions." He pointed at a random club member. "You. Start."

[Again, didn't sign up? No problem. Either handwave or just show up randomly! This is the one time in all of creation where Jackson just accepts people into his life.]

Sure, she could try this. Kate picked up a stick and a ball to try that 'bouncing the ball in the pocket' thing lacrosse players seemed to do.

Wow, this girl did look like Allison. Not that he thought Jackson would lie to him in this instance. Jackson was a little more creative than that.

"Um hi." Congrats, Stiles, you have mastered the art of greeting. "Want to practice with me?"

"Hi," Kate replied, deciding to pass on the 'um.' "If you don't mind me being terrible, I'm up for it."

"Don't worry about it, I'm kind of terrible myself," Stiles said. "And I've been playing for years so that's slightly more pathetic."

"Kind of," she admitted with a grin. "But that's the whole 'doesn't matter if you win or lose, it's how you play the game,' right?

"Ha! Tell that to our fearless leader," Stiles said, nodding his head over at Jackson. "He'll throw a hissy if his team loses. Not that this counts as an actual team."

"That was the impression I got," Kate agreed. She - very carefully - tossed the ball over to Stiles. "But are we sure he doesn't think winning should happen with this fake team?"

"Oh who knows? I try not to delve too deep into Jackson's mind." Surprise, surprise he actually caught the ball! Maybe the lacrosse championship wasn't a fluke after all. "Did he, ah, tell you that you look familiar?"

"Yeah, he said I look like a friend of his - Allison? Are you the other friend he mentioned?" she asked. Kate was still not thrilled with this face thing. Though Tommy had turned out okay.

"Yeah, I guess I am." Though he definitely wasn't Jackson's friend. "Allison's a pretty good friend of mine, she used to date my best friend. Who, coincidentally, also has a doppelganger here."

"That has to be nothing but weird for you." Seriously timelines, other universes, and people with the same face. What didn't this school have? (Sanity was the answer)

Kate considered. "At least I don't look like someone you hate. That'd be awkward."

"I haven't run into that yet. Unless you include Jackson, but he's not a doppelganger he's just from a different timeline," he said. "Okay, brace yourself, I'm about to toss the ball back."

He wouldn't blame you if you ran away, Kate.

"There's some people here like that for me," she said then raised an eyebrow. "Is that a warning to duck?"

But she was holding up her stick like she was planning to try to catch...or hit the ball. The habit of battle staves was a strong one.

"It's that and an advance apology if I hit you by accident," Stiles said before tossing the ball as lightly as he could. He immediately closed his eyes after so he didn't have to witness if he accidentally hit her.

Kate was totally confident in her "getting out of the way" skills. It was the "catching the ball" part that was beyond her.

"Dammit. That looked easier."

Stiles cracked an eye open when he didn't hear a scream. "Oh good, I didn't hit you. Considering my luck with girls I'm surprised I didn't knock your head off."

"Which I probably should have warned you about before we started this."

"Yeah, that's definitely something you should warn people about," Kate snarked. "Girls in general or just when you're throwing balls at them?"

"You're the first girl I've ever thrown balls at." That was quickly followed by a flail. "Oh my god! Can we please pretend I didn't say that?"

Kate snickered. "Sure, we can pretend that. But seriously, I'm honored."

Stiles smirked. "You're only saying that because I didn't murder you with a lacrosse ball."

"You so could not come close to murdering me with a lacrosse ball," she said definitively.

"You make that sound like a challenge. A challenge I will not take you up on because I am a gentleman," he said with a small bow. "Also because I probably would need arms of steel to really pull it off and I hate working out."

"Nah, a gentleman would have warned about the possibility," she smirked. "But now I'm relieved that I won't have to watch out for killer balls in the dorms or anywhere."

"Well you don't have to worry about from me and my noodle arms, this is true," Stiles said. "But I would still keep an eye out. There could be some lacrosse obsessed psycho on the loose."

That description actually fit Jackson pretty well.

Kate glanced over at their illustrious Captain.

"Your friend has some issues, huh."
