Spring 2013 Club Fair, Gym, Friday Afternoon

Jackson couldn't believe he was here again. At some Maryland boarding school, and some... quaint little freaking club fair, heading a lacrosse group that was really his own personal stress relief than any kind of an actual team.

But he was here again. And his club was listed on the club schedule. Guess this was really happening. Again.

And this time, they even had cheerleaders.

Jackson sighed and went to set up his table.

Once he pings in!

Like last time, Jackson had a neatly printed sign with the club's name on it on his desk, as well as some lacrosse gear as props. And he was wearing a Beacon Hills Lacrosse t-shirt again, too.

He was praying for more experienced players than last time (yes, even the people who'd been involved in the fall counted as "more experienced" right now), but wasn't exactly holding his breath.

Kate eyed the club flyer. "Lacrosse? Is Fandom in some kind of magical school sports league?"

Sorry Kate, Jackson had barely heard your question. That's what you got for looking like Allison.

So instead, he was frowning at her. And then he realized he hadn't listened to a word she'd said. "What?"

If Kate knew of the issue, she'd argue that Allison looked like her. Because clearly Kate was the original.

She frowned back at him. "What. Is there a league you play with or do you guys just scrimmage?"

Jackson tried arranging his face back into some kind of an expression that wasn't confused. He got about halfway there.

"There's no league, so far," he said, once he had. "We play in simulated environments."

Occasionally against clowns, because the Danger Shop didn't like Jackson.

"I don't even know what that means," she admitted. "You're looking at me like I'm crazy. Was that such a weird question?"

"You don't know who I am."

Yes. Nice job realizing that, Jackson.

In his defence, this doppelgänger thing was new to him.

"You're... not Allison, are you?"

"Should I?" Kate asked before realised he'd basically answered that question. "Nooo...I'm Kate Bishop. Who's Allison?"

Jackson didn't know why he felt disappointed to hear that, but he did.

"She's a friend." Whether he'd say that to Allison's face or not. Maybe he was just shaken enough to be honest for a second. And then he decided he was over it, leaning back in his chair. "There's another person or two in town who might think they recognize you too."

"Sorry," Kate said. Not that she wasn't Allison because she was fine being herself, but sorry that he'd thought she was a friend and ended up disappointed. She raised an eyebrow. "Another person or two who are friends too?"

"One who's a friend." He supposed Stiles would term himself one, anyway. "One who's not. But that one doesn't seem to have even met Allison yet."

They had so many timeline issues happening.

"Timelines," Kate said, making a face. "It's like this place attracts temporal issues." And she used to be on a team with a future supervillain from 3000 years in the future. Fandom? Weirder.

"Among other undesireable elements," Jackson said, dryly.

Fandom still wasn't his favorite, nope.

"Supervillains and vampires?" Not that she'd seen evidence of either (unless you counted Victor as a future one in some timelines).

"Surprise transformations and dinosaur attacks." Never mind that he'd subjected himself to transformations all on his own, too. And that was also why a dinosaur had gotten too friendly with him. "It's not the best school."

"I wasn't expecting academic excellence when I saw classes on cake and friendship," Kate said somewhat ruefully. "But dinosaur attacks? Did you piss off Gert?"

"Is that the girl with the Hot Topic purple hair?"

Like Jackson knew the names of the people he pissed off, come on.

"That's the one," she agreed. "You know, the one with the dinosaur."

Jackson didn't put much stock into the kind of logic you were trying to propose there, Kate. That involved paying too much attention to insignificant people.

He rolled his eyes. "I didn't piss her off." Until after the fact. "Her pet came to me."

Kate shook her head, wondering if he was just a lost cause here.

"So you attract dinosaurs?" Because that was funny.

As a matter of fact, he did! It was only funny until you realized it was because he was secretly a murder lizard.

After that, not so much.

He was kind of a lost cause in a lot of ways.

Also, he didn't look amused. "No."

Kate knew murder lizards!

...okay, that was a bad Skrull joke.

"There'd be worse non-extinct things to attract," she said with a shrug. "So, lacrosse. Would you take someone who's only played field hockey?"

"We had people who barely grasp the concept of organized sports in the fall," Jackson drawled, leaning back in his chair. "Anyone who knows field hockey is practically a pro."

So, that was a yes.

Well, it'd be a way to get more exercise since the martial arts and fencing lessons had ended with her leaving New York.

"Consider me your 'practically a pro' then," Kate smirked, writing her name down.
