Philosophy 201- Monday- 1st period

The students were back in the Danger Shop Theater today, where Jaye was standing in front of them. "Congratulations, you all survived your first week back! Unless you're already dead, or undead, in which case it was a figure of speech and don't take it personally," she said. "We're starting today with a movie from before the days when Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey became too annoying to deal with. And if you start getting annoyed, just remember they make more money than you probably ever will. That should instill some full-on rage.

"Also," Jaye added, "since some people actually like this one, while you're watching it, I want you to write a few paragraphs on your personal philosophy on love." Not that she cared, or would even read them, but sometimes she liked to keep her class on their toes.

Andie Anderson covers the "How To" beat for "Composure" magazine and is assigned to write an article on "How to Lose a Guy in 10 days." They meet in a bar shortly after the bet is made.

Wow, that album full of photoshopped children was karking terrifying. Cade wondered if he could make one like that to give to Atton with his and Sia's kids.

It works for some people, Atton wrote down near the end of the class, when he'd woken from his nap and realized he actually still had some time to blow. For the rest of us, it's just trouble.

Percy managed to watch five minutes of the movie before his attention started wandering to every single other thing but the movie.

He wasn't a fan of romantic comedies. This movie needed something exploding to keep his attention.

Love's nice if you find it but nothing in the world makes you hurt more. Kinda makes you wonder if it's worth it during those times you feel like death because of it.

I think unless somebody totally sweeps you off your feet, they probably aren't worth having, Juliet write. You should value yourself too much to "settle." Love can be a miracle, if you treat it that way.

Love can be as confusing as my feelings for this movie. That is not a one-to-one comparison, naturally. I did not love this movie. But at various points I found myself slightly charmed by it, bored by it, offended by it, and considering throwing the entire DVD player out a window because of it.

...Actually, it may still be a one-to-one comparison.
