Irritated to leave her prisoner behind, Eighth certainly looks distracted as she walks into class late. After passing the sign in sheet around, she eyes them all carefully.

"Surprise, sweethearts. Pop Quiz." And she passes it out with a small, secret smile.

You've captured the child of a warlord from a distant galaxy and have learned all about his world, his technology and his military forces – albeit from a child's perspective. You, of course, have a superior fighting force and you are great need of the superior technology of this distant galaxy. This particular far-off civilization has previously been ravaged by a similar army to your own and should be somewhat prepared. However, that previous invading force COULD see your army as invading their territory and that you are attacking their personal enemies and would be affronted and therefore attack you back. (A) Should you attack? (B) Should you collect more information?

"After you finish your pop quiz, please read the following document. Being able to openly state your intentions and deceiving the other party is a skill for every tactician, as well as being able to tell little white lies that cover up exactly what you are up to.

Pair up and roleplay, as it where, a little disinformation yourself. Try to find out your partner's Valentine's Day plans while spinning your own tale of deception.

Oh -- I'm afraid I will need to speak to you again, Mr. Mitchell. See me after class ~~for real this time~~."

"Yes, let's," Sam said, scooting her chair over. "So, any plans for Valentine's Day?"

"Well, Rory asked me out," Bridge answers, completely truthfully. And totally doesn't glance over at Anakin and attempt to send pleasedontkillme, pleasedontkillme, pleasedontkillme vibes in his direction.

"She did? That's...kind of surprising, if you don't mind my saying so," Sam said, also glancing in Anakin's direction. "So, are you going? What are your plans?"

"Well, we sort of decided to not make it, like, a date thing. We're just going to hang out as friends."

Again, true. But Bridge neglected to mention that they wouldn't neccessarily be hanging out on Valentine's Day.

"That's nice," Sam said, again glancing at Anakin. Maybe it was only a one-sided attraction on Rory's part. Poor thing. "So, you're going to hang out? Anyplace in particular?"

Anakin seemed to still be paying attention to his conversation with Callisto, but his ears had gone an interesting shade of scarlet.

And he was glaring at Bridge when no one was watching.

Or at least when he thought no one was watching.

He was a little too cranky to be subtle right now.

Bridge scribbles "I'll explain later" on a piece of notebook paper and tosses it at Anakin.

Anakin snatched the paper out the air and scowled at it.

You'd better.

He threw it back. Hard.

Sam caught the glare at Bridge and mentally groaned over the upcoming trainwreck. Okay, so not one-sided.

"Probably the Common Room," Bridge shrugged. "Or maybe... Angela keeps telling me I should go to Luke's, and that's her stepdad's restaurant, so maybe we'd go there."

"That's where I went on my first date with Jack," Sam volunteered, "it's a nice, comfortable place. Food and service are good, prices are reasonable."

"I'll keep that in mind," Bridge says offhandedly. "So, enough about me. Your plans?"

Sam, who hadn't broached the subject with Jack and wasn't sure he even remembered, said, "I think a nice romantic dinner in the room, or Cafe Fina. I left that up to him. Maybe some flowers. Something quiet."

"Reeeeeeally?" Bridge asks, narrowing his eyes. "Is that so?"

"Sure," Sam said, although she was such a bad liar it was possible Bridge didn't even need to use his psychic abilities to tell she was fibbing. "Really, I left most of the details to him. Um."

"I see," Bridge says solemnly. "So, after dinner?"

Sam blushed. "Um, I'd rather not say. It's, y'know, private."

"Yeah-huh," Bridge just nods.

Okay, so he didn't seem to be buying it. "What?"

"You have no idea, don't you?"

"Not a clue," she said, laying her head on the desk. "Man, I suck at this. And to answer honestly? I'm pretty sure he's going to forget."

"Maybe someone needs to drop a pink-and-red anvil on his head?" Bridge suggests with a laugh.

"Oh, would you?" Sam looked up and brightened. "That'd be really helpful."

"You want literal or metaphorical?"

She grinned, a bit evilly. "Can we start with metaphorical and move on from there?"
