Fandom High Lacrosse Club, The Danger Shop, Thursday After Classes
Yes, they were back in the Danger Shop. Even after the... malfunction they'd experienced last time. Jackson wasn't the type to just give up, and he'd looked into things, so he was fairly confident things were going to go his way this time. So far, so good: the current simulation was a fairly accurate reproduction of the locker rooms at his old school. And there was a simulation of a man standing up front. He looked wild-eyed and intense, and was also a pretty accurate depiction of the real thing. And Jackson wasn't going to explain this set up at all, he just let the simulation play.
"All right people, gather up, and listen up!" the simulated man said, gesturing for everyone to get closer. "That means you too, Greenberg!"
There was no Greenberg. No comment on whether that just made it even more lifelike. The man – Coach Simstock, if you will – squared his shoulders and began to speak with great gravitas. "Good morning. In less than an hour, aircraft from here will join others from around the world. And you will be launching the largest aerial battle in the history of mankind. "Mankind." That word should have new meaning for all of us today. We can't be consumed by our petty differences anymore. We will be united in our common interests." In case anyone thought this fet familiar, yes, it was the speech frommeta for Independence Day. And no, this wasn't a glitch. "Perhaps it's fate that today is the Fourth of July, and you will once again be fighting for our freedom... Not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution... but from annihilation. We are fighting for our right to live. To exist. And should we win the day, the Fourth of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day the world declared in one voice: "We will not go quietly into the night!" We will not vanish without a fight! We're going to live on! We're going to survive! Today we celebrate our Independence Day!"
He waited for their applause. It never came: Jackson froze the simulation. "That was Coach Finstock from Beacon Hills High," he explained. Looking rather smug that that sim had gone like it was supposed to. "It just felt like a good time to give you a taste of what lacrosse players out in the real world may experience right before a big game." Namely, lunatic ramblings from a coach who was actually pretty good at his job if you paid no attention to how batshit he seemed to be. "We get that speech every year. Do you feel inspired now?"
He wasn't going to wait for an answer, just pointed towards the doors. "Whatever, you're going out there now anyway." The doors out of the locker room opened... to a field made entirely of bouncy castles. Jackson... Jackson was just going to go beat his head against a wall, now. Or, wait, no. He was going to pretend that was intentional. "Bouncing... is good for your balance, and your muscles. This is your training for the day."
[ocd up!]

Arrive/Mingle [FHLC 11/08]

Re: Arrive/Mingle [FHLC 11/08]
It was pretty impressive that Stiles would rather be here considering the last person he wanted to be around at the moment was anybody named Jackson Whittemore. This one might not have showed any lizardy qualities yet but Stiles was staring at him (from a considerable distance) just in case he got any ideas about getting all scaley and murderous.
He couldn't even be mad that Jackson totally stole his idea.
Re: Arrive/Mingle [FHLC 11/08]
"The hell are you staring at me for, Stilinski? Did you just now realize you should be jealous of my bone structure?"
Re: Arrive/Mingle [FHLC 11/08]
"Get over yourself, I'm not staring at you." Yes, yes he was.
Re: Arrive/Mingle [FHLC 11/08]
"Harboring a little crush, are we?"
Re: Arrive/Mingle [FHLC 11/08]
Re: Arrive/Mingle [FHLC 11/08]
He was ever so nice.
Re: Arrive/Mingle [FHLC 11/08]
At least here he didn't have to lie and say it was a door that did it to him.
"And, hey! Plenty of people are desperate enough to do that to me!"
Re: Arrive/Mingle [FHLC 11/08]
He didn't sound surprised by that, either.

Re: Arrive/Mingle [FHLC 11/08]
Not that he would have, but, you know.

Re: Arrive/Mingle [FHLC 11/08]
Which was actually pretty funny from someone who suffered from sanity slippage often enough.

Re: Arrive/Mingle [FHLC 11/08]
"Like you could," he scoffed instead. "Are you gonna help out or not? Because I'm sure there are other volunteers."
NOT YOU, LOKI.
Re: Arrive/Mingle [FHLC 11/08]
And also because you were a lizard, Jackson.
Re: Arrive/Mingle [FHLC 11/08]
No, he was just weirdly determined to make it all work to his advantage.
Re: Arrive/Mingle [FHLC 11/08]
Sorry, Derek, was he supposed to keep that quiet?
Re: Arrive/Mingle [FHLC 11/08]
(Yeah, Jackson, you just wait a month or two.)
"I'd be calm."
Re: Arrive/Mingle [FHLC 11/08]
"You're such a liar, you'd run in fear."
Re: Arrive/Mingle [FHLC 11/08]
He was mostly saying that because Derek wasn't here right now. So, at this exact point in time, he was not afraid of him.

Listen to Coach Simstock [FHLC 11/08]
Re: Listen to Coach Simstock [FHLC 11/08]
meta forIndependence Day (on VHS of course), Ulrik had never seen the film, and so the speech wasn't familiar. Confusing, though, given that it was in fact the 8th of November.Play! ... I mean Bounce! [FHLC 11/08]
Re: Play! ... I mean Bounce! [FHLC 11/08]
"Could..."
"Be..."
"Better..."
"With..."
"Blue..."
"Goo..."
Only because repulsion gel would make it even bouncier.

Talk to Thor [FHLC 11/08]
Re: Talk to Thor [FHLC 11/08]
Really, the only thing that would make him happier would be if he were allowed to play as well. But students being broken into itty bitty pieces was something he hoped to avoid, so really, it was for the best.
