Junior Achievers Club, Wednesday (After Classes)

When the members of Junior Achievers stepped into the Danger Shop today, they'd probably notice that it wasn't exactly set up in typical Danger-Shop-training-session form. Nope, today they were stepping into the African savannah, with golden plains stretching as far as the eye could see, dotted by the occasional acacia or baobab tree, a herd of elephants mulling about in the distance.

"Hi, everyone!" Evan had a smile and a wave for the group as they finished assembling. "Since this is our last meeting before the break - already, right? - we thought maybe today we'd have a really topical kind of meeting. You know, to prepare you for some of the stuff that might happen while you guys are in Africa!"

Evan gave his hands a clap, and a pile of pith helmets and cameras appeared, enough for everyone to take one of each.

"We're going on safari!"

Refreshments today mostly consist of water bottles. Not that it's terribly hot in the Danger Shop. The leaders hadn't gone for total accuracy, there.

Liara had been mildly embarrassed to find out she'd completely forgotten when this club was held - as her mother always liked to point out, she spent too much time with her face in books and too little time out in the world.

So, looking contrite (in as much as she was visibly capable of it), she arrived at the club today to find...

Safari?

"Oh my."

What fantastical things might happen?

You're watching a majestic herd of zebra cross a river up ahead, when all of a sudden a crocodile snatches one and drags it under... at the same time as a hippo trashes the rope bridge that was supposed to get you across safely!

Curse you, you hungry hippo.

Is your safari over before it's even begun? You can work alone or in groups to get across the river safely, mindful of the aggressive creatures in the water with the big, dangerous mouths!

One thing that George's skills and magic could not do, was conjure up boats or bridges out of thin air, which... was unfortunate, considering this particular task.

He might just be able to shield himself, and perhaps someone else, from a crocodile or two?

You've made it across, only to find yourself face-to-face with a charging rhinoceros! That guy's huge and he means business!

What do you do?

Phew, that was close! But in the excitement, a cheetah has grabbed your camera and has made off with it, running at full-tilt. You're going to need that if you want to finish your safari, you know.

Get it back!

As if the cheetah wasn't ~~convoluted~~ enough, now a vulture has taken your pith helmet?

Look, it just isn't a safari without a pith helmet, and that guy can fly. This might be a tricky one. Maybe!

Still don't be afraid to pair off, if you need a hand with any of these!

Where all of the elephants are already dead, but those hyenas that are lurking in the shadows...

Well, they're hyenas. They're hungry.

This one is mostly just a glitch in the programming, probably. A mandrill has just handed you a lion cub and has pointed you to the precipice of a large outcropping of rock.

Um... Show off the lion cub while all of the animals of the savannah cheer? While Evan tries to get the programming to work right.

The safari's probably over, now...

You guys are also free to just do your own thing with the surrounding ~~moddable~~ ladscape! You know, if pith helmets aren't really your thing.

Evan was there, maybe a tiny bit embarrassed by the end of the safari.

But he looked pretty dapper in his pith helmet, if he did say so himself. And his shorts were totally appropriate, here!

Billy probably shouldn't have been giggling about the cute lion cub, but awwww, cute lion cub. He was excited about the safari, and would gladly squeal about it with anyone who wanted to.

When he pings in!

I get a Nuance tonight, so the world isn't allowed to end yet.
