Junior Achievers Club, Wednesday (after classes)

"Hi everyone!" Billy said brightly, once everyone had made their way into the Danger Shop. "It's good to see you all again. The first thing we wanted to do today was talk a little bit about Parents Weekend. Some people are going to have friends and family members in town this weekend--" But not everyone, sigh. "--and some of those families don't really know about what Fandom is like. We thought it might be good to have a little discussion about how you guys have dealt with Parents Weekend in the past, in terms of your powers. Do you think it's okay to show off and expose parents to some of this stuff before, you know, graduation, or do you kind of hide your powers, if you can?"

"For actual practice, we thought it might be helpful to do something teamworky today." Shhh, that was totally a word. "We've got a sort of obstacle course here with different things that need to be tackled to get through, and we hopefully made it so everyone will have to work together to get to the end. And if you get to the end, you get a prize!" Because everyone liked prizes, right?

George was possibly one of the few, who wasn't worried at all about a family visit. Rose might fuss a little, but she was used enough to magic and craziness, for this island and its quirks not to really phase her and Jack... well, he would probably whine about not getting to come here himself.

He was looking forward to it.

"I know that my Uncle, if he ends up coming," because Uncle Cluster was a bit unpredictable that way, "won't be too surprised by people with powers. He's the one who trained me with mine, after all. But I have met people here, too, who don't really know what to make of even the way that I look."

His roommate, for example, seemed kind of hung up on staring at his mouth.

"I could do my best to look a little more normal... but I'd rather not."

George shrugged, "My sister has power of her own and our home is... strange, sometimes." That was possibly an understatement. "I'm not worried. I might avoid powers, for the sake of people who would rather their family didn't know."

Also because raising zombies tended to make people a little uncomfortable.

Oh, George was right at home in this part, disturbingly enough.

The main benefit of his particular set of skills, was the ability to steer a few zombies away from himself as he made his way past. It was sort of like sneaking, but less sneaky.

Evan was also eating politely! Which was a bit of an accomplishment, really. The pumpkin cupcakes were excellent, but he'd only taken one, so he was trying to prolong the experience before running out.
