Drama! Thursday, Period Four
Today the drama room contained a sound system in addition to the usual drama-y equipment.
"I hope everyone remembered to bring a song!" Thor said, as he waited for everyone to settle in to a circle. "Because today we are going to talk about musicals. Now, while many Midgardian cultures have created some form of musical theatre, we are going to talk about the kind that has had the most influence within the culture of this nation.
And yes, there was a handout prepared for them to look over!
If you're marvelling at the fact that Thor knows how to use a printer, well... this success only came after he was informed that he could not, in fact, print out GIFs. Be glad. Be very glad.
"Now, for those of you who have brought a song- I highly encourage you to perform for the class!" Thor said enthusiastically. "If you did not bring one, but would still like to showcase your skill, I have procured a number ofmoddable 'popular music' selections."
After everyone who chose to had performed, there was, once again, a small block of time set aside for anyone to bring up any suggestions for the final performance.

Re: Sing [Drama! 20/09]
"This is called 'Tea for Two,'" she announced. "It's from a '20s musical, but most people know it 'cause people like Blossom Dearie and Doris Day covered it."
And with that, she began to sing. She liked the lyrics, even if she thought the world described in them would bore her silly.
I'm discontented with homes that I've rented
So I have invented my own.
Darling, this place is lovely oasis
Where life's weary taste is unknown
Far from the crowded city
Where flowers pretty caress the stream
Cozy to hide in, to live side by side in,
Don't let it apart in my dream
Picture me upon your knee
Just tea for two
And two for tea
Just me for you
And you for me alone
Nobody near us to see us or hear us
No friends or relations
On weekend vacations
We won't have it known
That we own a telephone, dear
Day will break and I'll wake
And start to bake a sugar cake
For you to take for all the boys to see
We will raise a family
A boy for you
And a girl for me
Can't you see how happy we would be
Picture you upon my knee
Just tea for two
And two for tea
Just me for you
And you for me alone

He cleared his throat, fidgeted kind of a lot, looked down at the lyrics he'd written on note cards, and then started a song.
He... totally didn't stop fidgeting for even a second the entire time, no.
Re: Sing [Drama! 20/09]
Sorry, Jono. She was defaulting back to the style of classical singing she'd grown up learning, rather than the growly guitar he'd been trying to teach her.
