Hiding in Plain Sight, Wednesday, Period Four

Today, Bond numbered off the students as they came into the Danger Shop, which again resembled the change room from last week though there was a curtain down the middle of it. He directed the ones to one side of it and the twos to the other.

"Good afternoon. Today we're going to be doing another practical exercise to see how well you've been paying attention so far," Bond told them. "You will notice that there are a pair of doors down the end of the room. Beyond those doors is a contemporary museum, during the busiest time of the day. You each have five minutes to pick a suitable outfit before going though your groups door, which lead to different parts of the museum. It is the job of the ones to find ways blend in with the crowd and for two to find their classmates. Neither group is to draw the attention of the museum guards in doing so. Halfway through the class we'll switch roles. Hopefully by the end of class you will have both evaded capture and caught at least one of your classmates."

Sholeh had found something modern enough to let her blend in and tried to lose herself in a pack of other students--while ignoring Zeela who pointed out that if she let her surface, no one ever be able to find them.

What did you wear to a museum during actual, bonafide, daylight operating hours? That was the question, and Stephanie couldn't help being a bit concerned anyway; the last time she'd gone to a museum, it ended up in explosions and villainy monologuing.

. . . that summed up her museum-visiting track record, actually, if you counted being in them after hours too.

There was a lot of second-guessing and, dare one say it, waffling going on when she picked out what to wear.

So now here she was, worrying about whether she blended in properly, and did she look stupid in this -- ooo, mummies. Did it make her not blend in to be actually engrossed in the exhibit?

Percy knew he stuck out like a sore thumb at a museum. He just wasn't academic looking and he got bored so easily. He stayed near the mummy and pretty much stared at it.

Probably not the best way to blend in but he did stop staring long enough to try and find another student. He started checking bigger groups first to see if someone was going the ole 'lose yourself in a crowd' type deal.
