Club Fair, Gym, Friday Afternoon

Jackson got to the gym early. He took his mission of establishing a sports team in Fandom pretty seriously, see. That involved making something of an effort, and showing up early to check out the competition (yes, he viewed the other clubs as competition, deal with it) was the least he could do.

He grabbed a copy of the club schedule for himself before he went to set up his table.

Olive beamed at him. "All right, I finally found something that freaks us both out! Sexy vampires. What weird common ground to have. Though the 'sexy' part is quite subjective and doesn't sound like it much applies to me. The guy doesn't really sound like my type."

"I just think alive is a pretty key part of sexy," Victor said with a quick grin back, wondering if that was a mildly ironic opinion for him to have. "Plus, y'know. Not into guys."

"But yeah, as things in common go, this is a strange one."

"You know, I thought the 'alive' part was a huge thing for me," Olive mused. "And it still is. But this place is kind of making me think about that stuff. A heartbeat or...whatever is kind of less important if they have an awesome personality, I think."

And my, weren't those rubber bands fascinating? Olive had begun winding one around her fingers nervously, because she was crossing into philosophical territory that should probably be discussed with someone other than, you know, the robot she maybe liked a little.

"Not that this guy sounds like he does. But still."

Victor looked half-embarrassed, half amused at how intently Olive was studying those rubber bands. The subtext there was ... not so much subtext, no.

"I guess in theory I see your point," he said. "I mean, in theory somebody could fall in love with a brain in a jar, or a ghost, or ... all kinds of things." Like an android. "But I still have a hard time imagining it. Maybe this vampire guy would prove me wrong."

"I'll let you know," Olive assured him, abandoning her rubber bands again. "If he sweeps me off my feet with his paranormally romantic charms, I'll send you a postcard from Transylvania or whatever."

"Pretty sure you'd win at delinquent forever if you got expelled and then dropped out of your next school to run away with a vampire," Victor said, grateful for the veer away from heavy topics. "So ... there's that?"

"Maybe they'd let me call it a study abroad program if I made a case for, you know, the power of true love or whatever," Olive mused. "I mean, it's apparently very easy to get the administration to agree to things. Exhibit A."

She gestured grandly to her table because, seriously, pajama club.

"True," Victor agreed. "Plus, you could probably get in a nice little Transylvania honeymoon before they noticed you were gone. I don't get the sens they're watching us all that hard."

"Considering there's no enforced drinking age in town and we have co-ed dorms? Yeah, no," Olive said, shaking her head. "They seem content enough to leave us to our own devices. Which...not exactly a bad thing, for most of us. It's a nice change from my last school."

"And for those of us who have been on our own for a while, it's nice not to go back to being treated like a kid," Victor nodded. "I'm so not complaining. Especially since we get things like clubs for girls to hang out in their jammies out of the hands-off approach."

"It does mean that I live more on Pop Tarts and raw cookie dough than I would at home," Olive noted thoughtfully. "So I guess that's a detractor. But yeah, I get my pajama club, and I only have class three times a week. I see no bad here."
